Congrats Caroline! You are an inspiration! When I first found this board and got to meet you it was like meeting a celebrity! I have always been in such awe of you! I am so glad to have spent time with you and be able to call you friend! You have a heart of gold! I will always remember staying up all night with you and Laurie, giggling like teenagers! Enjoy your week! XXOO! Stacie S.

Hello everyone..... Last week came just at a point where I needed it. Sometimes the holidays - while festive and cheery - have a way of bringin' ya down... I wasn't feeling very good about myself and then you all lifted me up to a better state of mind with your kind posts, emails and messages to my surgery page. What a wonderful week! I want to thank my good friend, Connie Sue, for thinking of me.... she must have just 'known' what I needed... That is what friends are for, though, right? This decision - as it has been for everyone else who has had the opportunity to make it - was a hard one. Everyone on this board is so deserving - everyone contributes in some way in making this place the warm, loving and informative communitity that it is. I had several people in mind whom I have gone back and forth on over these last few days. At one point I was certain I knew who I was going to pick - but when I woke up this morning I decided to go with my gut and my heart. So I chose the very first person who came to mind when I first started going through this process ~ Yes, I am going with my first instinct, which is always best I think. This weeks Person of the Week was one of the first people who welcomed me to this site - back in the days of the old style message board (anyone remember that?) ~ This person has overcome amazing adversity to be where they are today ~ They have been amazingly successful in their WLS journey ~ This person is ALWAYS there for the people on this board ~ Has been instrumental in arranging several gatherings where a large population of we 'Cali MBrs' have had an opportunity to meet face to face ~ This person has also been the main source of documentation for many peoples weight loss journies ~ This person's profile has been called an 'inspiration', a great 'bible' to refer back to, and a gift. This person is going through some tough times right now both with the final steps of their weight loss journey and in their personal life. This person will be moving away shortly to another state and while I am sure that this person will stay in touch with all of us here - this person won't be in Cali anymore... Have you guessed yet? Come on, it's soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo obvious! Keep scrolling Keep going ********************************** This person is my angel - CAROLINE MARTIN ********************************** Caroline's awesome profile = http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/profile.phtml?N=M1043211376 Caroline's surgery support page = http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/status.phtml?N=M1043211376 Love you sweetie! I hope that you will have as great of a week as I did and I also hope that even though you are currently facing a ton of adversity you will see that you are loved. Enjoy your week as the POTW! Caroline, My prayers and love are with you and Alan. So sorry you had to put Cocoa kitty to sleep, but he was ready to move on and play in the fields of heaven with Mia. In time your heart will heal and remember your friends are here for you. Krista : )

Caroline ~ My thoughts, love, and prayers are with you and Alan tonight...Cocoa Kitty (the Havana Brown), will be in your hearts forever. He was a wonderful companion, and was very fortunate to have had the two of you as parents! Love you, Mika

Hi everyone :) Just a little update on myself :) Since my surgery a little over 16 months ago, I am now at goal! I've lost 213 lbs (from 367 lbs to 154 lbs) and over 185 inches (yes, over 15 feet of myself)! I am wearing Misses Smalls and size 4/6 in jeans. I do have a bit of excess skin (ok, a lot), and thank goodness that clothing hides it pretty well! I am currently appealing my medical group's decision to deny all needed and medically necessary reconstructive surgeries with the exception of the abdominoplasty which was approved. Please feel free to check my profile for updates, and I hope to see everyone at future SoCal WLS events!!!!! Hugs :) Caroline

Hi :) I went through your before and after pics while sitting at work...I literally got teary eyed at all the changes you have gone through and how great you look now! Missie, you're a knockout now! I bet alan is keeping his arm tight around you with all them wandering eyes! hehe. Best of luck and hopefully will get to meet ya in person in any upcoming Cali Board events. Adios, Norma.

Hi everyone!!! Just wanting to update how I am doing! I am now 13 months postop and doing great with my weight loss! I am down 192 lbs from 367 lbs to 175 lbs, and I've gone from wearing a 6X/7X to a Misses Small on tops and Misses 10 in jeans! I've lost over 160 inches and have gained a lot of insight over the past 13 months... I've also met some of the most awesome people throughout the course of my journey within the GastricBypass-PostOp YahooGroup that I run, my inperson support group meeting and via OH's message boards and chat! Sending hugs to all and hoping this finds you doing wonderful in your own journey!!!

Hi Caroline...... I truly enjoyed reading ur profile. You have experienced so many of the obsticles that I'm now facing. And u've make me think that I will some how come through this with flying colors. I'll be 3 months post op on Friday up until now I've been considering myself a failure at this. This has been soooo mental and I really couldn't understand why I did this to myself. But after reading your profile .. I know now that I'm not alone and I thank you for that. Congrats on your success and I wish nothing but the best for you. Thnx again. Ms. P
