Hi everyone :) Just a little update... I am 9 1/2 months postop and doing well weight wise, now being down 151 lbs. I'm continuing to keep up with my exercise and healthy eating, and while I have had weeks where I haven't lost anything, my weight continues to come down steadily by about 12 to 13 lbs per month. I've been dealing with a bit of depression but have been fighting it by not giving into it. :) Caroline

I will be there SUnday.. I will have a black spaghetti strap dress with pink lace. I will have my hair up.. I look pretty much like in my pics.. can't wait to see u!

Hi Caroline, Thank you so much for your sweet messages, It was wonderful to finally met you at Vegas, I have some pictures too. I have to figure out how to put them on line! You are looking so pretty, and man what a good weight loss accomplisment! Keep up the great job and each day you will keep getting prettier and prettier. Wow, what a wonderful page. I loved the poetry, but I especially appreciated your willingness to expose your abuse. I haven't read it fully because I am at school and want to read without interuption. I am 35 years old. I weigh 260lbs and am looking forward to the surgery. I too have also been abused. I am also doing a lot of research on the subject for my graduate project--trauma writing in the composition classroom with a possible focus on eating disorders and abuse. It's very important to talk and write about it. The talking removes the guilt and shame from the victim and places it right where it belongs--on the perpetrator. I hope we can exchange emails someday.

Hello Carolina. I must say I came across you post and have become extremly inspired. My surgery is on Dec 9th and I am looking forward to beginning a healthy life. Your profile has been both encouraging and infromative. I will be placing my order for vitamins this week. Thanks alot for taking so much time and effort in your profile to keep people informed. Hello Caroline, Wow. I just finished reading your profile, reading your poems, viewing your art work... WOW. I am so blown away. I can only say I have tears in my eyes. You are a very deep person and I am so happy that you have managed to take the "lemons that life has tossed at you and made lemonaid" God Bless you and may your life be filled with much love and happiness... This will be showing a second time in the message board :) :jump: Yea!!!!!!!!! I finally made the Century Club tonight!!!! :jump: I had my surgery 5/2/03 starting at 367 and I am now officially 267! Even with another 130 lbs to lose, this has been an awesome journey so far!!! I can't thank ObesityHelp.com enough. :love: If it weren't for this site, I would never have found the inspiration to seriously consider WLS as a viable option for me. :type: I remember doing a search on "gastric bypass surgery doctor california" back in January and finding one of the surgeon's forums. From there, I clicked on "photos" and then started reading many of the profiles listed here. What hit me was the wonderful success people were having not only in losing weight, but also maintaining weight loss. I was also sooooooo able to relate to so many of your stories, and I realized that there was a "secret" that you all knew about that I didn't know about. :secret: Yes, of course that secret was WLS. I went into surgery having a lot of blind faith. I truly suspected that if the surgery could fail anyone, it would be me. :uhoh: But having said this, I also read other people expressing this same fear who had still managed to succeed despite it. :wave: Thank you to EVERYONE who has shared a bit of themselves here in ObesityHelp! And thank you to all of the wonderful OH staff and volunteers! :thumbsup: You have been and continue to serve as my inspiration! Hugs to all! :kiss: Caroline
