First Step!
Mar 30, 2007
After going to my gyn for my annual exam, he strongly suggested that I see a bariatric surgeon because as I get older my condition will deteriorate. Except for weighing 315lbs (!!), my health is okay. I was very embarrassed over that visit and wanted to scream out to him, "DUH!!" but as usual, held my tongue. I recognize that my health will get worse as I get older and though I'm 44 I feel sometimes much older! So, my gyn doctor recommended Dr. McDaniels and I made the call and sent in my insurance information. They called today to say I'd be an excellent candidate though he's considered out-of-network in my insurance, but that my insurance says I have to be on a medically supervised diet for 6 months (weigh in once a month) before the surgery. They also suggested finding a surgeon in network, so I remembered watching an add for Bariatric Surgery on KRIS channel 6, located the center's number and called them for information. I now have an information appointment April 7, 2007 (Saturday).
