3 Weeks Out & Down 26 Pounds!
Mar 19, 2009
I tried fish pureed, foamies. Ground beef pureed, foamies. Chicken. Foamies! So as of right now Im giving up on eating meat and have become a temporary Vegetarian! LOL
My diet pretty much consist of Yogurt, Mash Potatoes, Popsicles, Soups, and Protein Shakes(which I have been having a very hard time doing as well)
Everyone is saying this is normal, and it will take time, and its pretty much a hit and miss.
I dont regret the surgery what so ever, but Im just a bit frustrated that I get these damn foamies, its the worst feeling ever, and you know its coming, so you better run to the bathroom or its gonna be a mess!
On a lighter note lol Im down 26 pounds, and feeling pretty good a little tired lately but I know its because I havent been able to get my protein in like i should because i feel sick. Im really working on this and know how important it is.
My Surgery Adventure 2 Weeks Post-Op!
Mar 12, 2009
Its well overdue that I post about my surgery. It was February 26th, and everything pretty much Textbook Perfect! I hardly remember going into surgery, just remember seeing the light in the OR and then walking up in recovery! LOL I slept pretty much the whole 1st day, and I sure needed it.
My mom was there, and although she was unsupportive of the surgery when Dr. Nunn came out and told her that I was fine she was overjoyed. Shes on the boat now, and shes so proud that I have done this for me & children, and she is thrilled at my weight loss so far.
I was able to meet Shelly as well, she was 3 weeks post-op and her words were very encouraging and she was such a sweetheart.
Ms. Kerbi came to visit me as well with Teddy & Balloon in hand and what a sweetheart, I remember her coming, but far as our convo its a little blurred, LOL I think I was still Loopy from the meds! LOL
I had some trouble peeing after surgery so they had to catheter me one time and then after that No problems! My nurses for the most part were wonderful! I also got up to walk the 2nd night, and had the shakes really bad, all the nurses were freaking out, and made me get back in bed, I had a low grade Fever but it went away. THANK GOODNESS!
Dr. Nunn wasn't on call when I was discharged but Dr. Taylor was, and GIRLSSS he was Oh so Yummy! LOL Haha, I was like damn why does this sexy man have to see me like this? LOL
But I'm 2 weeks out now, and doing Fantastic. I'm down 19 pounds and feeling like a new woman! LOL No trouble getting my water in, just a little trouble with the Protein but I'm working on it! I'm also eating pureed, and cant stand eggs and tuna very much right now....I'm sure that'll pass though, I hope so because I loved Tuna Before!
For anyone contemplating if this is the right decision for you, believe me it is! Your body will thank you, its just incredible how down 19 pounds can make you feel.
Ne way I love all My OH Fam you guys are wonderful and so supportive

9 Days Away Till Surgery!
Feb 16, 2009
I'm keeping a positive attitude, and I know in my heart this the right decision for me, and my babies, so no second thoughts here. I know its completely normal to have "buyers remorse" after surgery, but that shall pass like everything else.
I am determined to use this "tool" to the limit, I want to be a healthy role model for my children & step children. I know what I need to do to loose all this weight, walk walk walk, sip sip sip, and make sure I get all my protein! I hope to be
I shopped around and priced a lot of different protein powders here in Canada, and then in The USA, surprisingly Barix has the cheapest prices for Nectar, and Matrix 5.0! So ill be stocking up on the protein powders there. I already bought all the sugar free jellos and powders when I was at Walmart a few weeks ago, but you know my little one seen them and wanted to eat them! LOL So ill have to buy more before surgery, still have to buy my vitamins, etc. Ill be doing that this Friday.
Me, and some girlfriends are heading to the Casino this Friday for dinner, and to play some slots, it will be our last time out before surgery. Its going to be bittersweet, *my relationship with food* lol but I'm totally ready to let it go.
Since I made the decision to pursue WLS, Ive had a lot of friends ask me about it and how to be approved, its very heart warming to know that they want to follow my direction & wish them all the best.
Ne way Ill probably post one more time before surgery, just want to thank all my OH friends for their support and kind words.

Consultation At Barix
Oct 28, 2008
So me & BD went to my appt. @ The Barix Clinic in Ypsilanti yesterday, and we had a group session where Dr Andre Nunn explained the differences between Lap Band & Rouen-Y Gastric.
It was quite intresting, a lot of info, and very overwhelming to take in all at once, they did one on one interviews with nurses...She weighed me, and I cant believe that I am 118 pounds overweight, I wanted to crawl into a hole! She was like "Hunnie its ok, Trust me I was 200 pounds overweight before I got my surgery" It was very comforting to not feel judged by some "Skinny" Person who has no idea how it feels to be overweight
Dr. Nunn was very nice, and very calm spoken, he said I was a good candidate and that I am lucky that I only have a few problems due to my weight compared to many of his patients. That the health problems would arise later if I didn't do anything about it...He said that he is going to send a letter to my Physician stating that He thinks I am a good candidate, then to OHIP to approve it...I am hoping by January to have the surgery.
1st Steps....
Oct 22, 2008
I must say this has been a long time coming, Ive been overweight since I hit puberty so about 10 years now. 238 pounds was the most I've weighed ever, and I'm 5'2, so that is a lot of extra weight on my body! My knees hurt constantly, my back, shortness of breathe, and a long list of other causes because of my weight...Thank God I don't have diabetes yet, or High Blood Pressure. But I know if I continue to gain weight that's the route I will be heading.
So everyone please keep me in your thoughts as I hope I am approved from OHIP for this surgery, and I can begin to live a healthy life again.
