My wife has made it to the other side. It has been an interesting time. Dr. Fabito was great. T. had to have her gall bladder out too, so the proceedure was a little more complicated, but I've been told that many people who have wls need gall bladder surgery later, so I guess it was for the best. The first couple of days were very painful. Thank God for morophine! She is home now and improving alot each day. I never realized how much was involved for the spouse of someone having wls. There is alot of emotional support to be given, as well as taking care of the children, helping change the wound dressing etc. It has already been worth it to see the change in her attitude about herself and life.

IT IS OFFICIAL-------I MADE IT TO THE OTHER SIDE. I had open RnY with gallbladder removal on 10/15 and was released today. The muscle spasms are much improved....now I have to deal with the nausea. I have 34 staples and a G-tube which is more painful than the staples...... I will give a full account of my experience in a few days....sooner if I can talk my hubby into typing for me.

Hi all I spent the evening with Terri last night. She is still in a lot of pain but doing quite well. Dr. Fabito came to see her while I was there. He stated she had a lot of muscle mass he had to cut through during the surgery and that is what is causing all of her pain. She had a little trouble with her IV but they managed to get that re-started too. She is getting out of bed by herself, so her husband Jim and I made her take a walk. She hated us for it, but what are Angles for. When I left last night her husband Jim was with her and he was putting her to bed. I will be back tonight after work to check on her. She starts on some soft food today. Yeah. The new staff at St. Alexius Hospital is the pits. The New Start Staff has not transfered over yet. ICU was awful, and her daywatch staff on the floor never bothered to hook up her leg cuffs, or even check on her. I complained to the afternoon staff and they said they would take care of it. They where better but not up to the standard we where promised at the New Start Seminar. I'll post more later.

Wayt to Go Terri! She made it to the other side. Not very happy right now though. She was in a lot of pain when I saw her the morphine pump was not really helping with the spasms. I told the nurse and they got her some better Meds. She slept most of the day in ICU. When she woke up around 6:00 P.M. She was upset that all of us had gone home and was not there when she came out of recovery. We visited with her for almost an hour after she came out of surgery. She is really excited though, but said the pain was worse than child birth. I will be visiting her today after work and printing this card out for her. So PLEASE fill it up. Thanks a bunch to you all. We Love ya Terri.
