I am a married, 33 year old, mother of one. I have been overweight all of my life. My WLS journey started around christmas of 2005, when my aunt had RNY. She was concered and shared with me her experience with WLS. For a while I blew it off; but now I'm ready. My weight has soared to 356 lbs. I have HTN, PCOS, joint pains, back pains, and on the verge of being Type II diabetic. I have also suffered from infertility between my weight and PCOS. My son is adopted, so I never have been able to concieve. I have been contiplating WLS for a while; I have no problem meeting most of the criteria my insurance company requires, the only thing is the 5 yr documentation of being overweight. I was not the type of person that would frequent a doctor, but when it can time for me to adopt my son I had to have a physical. Then I realized that I really need to do something so I could be here to watch my son grow up! Not only that I needed to be healthy for myself. For those of you that read my profile I ask that you say a little prayer for me as I go throught this journey!
