HI GUYS IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME. I HAD THE LAP BAND SINCE 2008. FROM DAY ONE IT DIDN'T WORK WELL FOR ME. I NEVER FOUND MY "SWEET SPOT" I WOULD GET A FILL AND EVERYTHING WOULD BE FINE & A FEW DAYS OR MONTHS LATER MY BAND WOULD GET SO TIGHT I WOULD NEED AN UNFILL. THEN I'D EVENTUALLY END UP WITH NO RESTRICTION. MEAT AND VEGETABLES WOULD GET STUCK SO MUCH I ENDED UP RELYING ON COMFORT/SLIDING FOODS MILK,CEREAL ETC. END RESULT I GAINED ABOUT 80LBS!!!!! I FELT LIKE A FAILURE... BUT ON 1/30/15 DESPITE ME VOWING TO NEVERRRR HAVE ANOTHER SURGERY. I DID, I REVISED TO THE GASTRIC SLEEVE &&& OMG!!!! Y'ALL IT WAS ONE THE BEST DECISIONS I'VE MADE IN MY LIFE!!! NO MORE STUCK FEELINGS, SLIME,BEING DEATHLY AFRAID OF THROWING UP IN THE RESTAURANT, NO MORE DODGING TOILET WATER FROM PUKING MY GUTS UP LOL!!! DON'T ACT LIKE Y'ALL DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. ANYWAYS I'M DOWN 51-52 LBS AND I'M FEELING GREAT!!!!!!

 

OK.. I've yelled screamed and cried enough! So with that being said, I accept the problems that I had with the band and I'm moving FORWARD, NOT LOOKING BACK AT ALL!!!! I'm going back to the basics. I'm drinking protein shakes in the a.m. and eating a sensible lunch and dinner & I'm going to get a little more active. Before my Mother passed she told me "You are one child that don't ever give up, you will make the best out of any situation." So OH I'm going to use those words as my motivating factor. I vow to spend more time on this site than facebook, Id rather be around ppl that can understand my struggle. THANKS GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys, Its been a while since I last posted. I really just need to vent and I know that this is one place where I can let my guards down. On last week I went to the Dr. & was damn near in tears I told him how I was constantly gaining weight in-spite of the fact that I have been banded for 3 yrs. I told the story of how I was so desperate to keep the weight off that I would run 4 miles a day. which resulted in a severe case of plantar facittis. My moods are just crazy & I have migraines almost daily& I find it difficult to sleep. My hands and feet are always cold & I'm back to my pre- surgery weight. When I was finished ranting & raving. He informed me that I have all of the classic symptoms of HYPOTHYROIDISM. It felt so good to know that I now have an answer to all of these problems. I really would like to hear from anyone that was banded & had to deal with this. I need to know is there any hope that I can get back to normal.

Hey y'all unfortunately I'm back to square 1, I went to the Dr. 2 weeks ago after gaining 32lbs and was informed that my band has a leak. I asked the nurse practitioner if I could have a test to show where its leaking from and this biish had an attitude! She was like ummm nooooo we test you by checking your band every two weeks.. I'm like yeah right WTF ever & then she had the nerve to tell me come back in two more weeks so that she can give me another fill, by this point I'm going off I'm like are u serious??? do u think I'm gonna keep on paying u $150 for nothing!! Needless to say I'm now considering the bypass so y'all wish me luck.. I'll keep u posted!  Sorry Bridgette, Christie,and Kitty cause y'all heard the uncensored version!!

Call me the "prodigal daughter" i strayed away and when the lbs stared coming back on , here i am running back home (o.h.) I've gained about 10 lbs back :( my fault. I haven't been eating right lately so I'm just going back to the basics I'm in a 14 my goal is a 12 wish me luck :)

GM O.H. I'M JUST UPDATING YOU ON VONDA 39. HER SURGERY WAS A COMPLETE SUCCESS AND SHE IS FEELING GREAT "LOVING THE PAIN MEDS LOL"  SHE'S LOOKING TO BE HOME BY FRI. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND PRAYERS !!!!!!!!11

Well GM O.H. fam. I'm just dropping a few lines to let u know that I went in for an emergency infill(1cc) was taken out & I felt instant relief I'm now Down to 211 but I know that's just probably the fluids I lost anywhoo thanx to all that checked up on me i really appreciated that. B4 I go HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY TO MY BABY GIRL J'AIMARI

Man o man Idk what in da hell is going on.. For 3 days now I've not been able to keep anything down.. I'm guessing it may be stressed related because on top of some fmly issues aunt-flo came to visit ughhhh!!!  Anywhoo I will be @ da Doc. 1st thing in the a.m. cause not even being able to keep ur saliva dwn is NOT COOL!!  I know, I know  TMI Sorry.

Hey O.H. fam I'm 1 1/2 year out of surgery and guess what I'M OFFICIALLY A SIZE 14!!!!!!!!! Man it's a long way  from the 22 I started out @  Thank U God!!!
