Like many, I have tried dieting during the years with little success until I tried Weight Watchers. It was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to everyone. If you follow the program, you will loose the weight. I lost 70 pounds and kept most of it off for more than 2 years. However, Weight Watchers will only take folks in our situation so far. Eventually I gained a little of that back and lost my momentum and motivation. A year or so later I investigated the gastric bypass option and determined it was for me.
I was 365 at the time of my initial surgical consult on January 4, 2007. Prior to that, I successfully lost 41 with Weight Watchers. At the time of surgery on March 20, 2007, I was 341. At five months post-op, I was down 104 from the date of surgery and down 156 from my highest known weight.
Again, like Weight Watchers, the surgical option works if you work the program. I am a success story with a few pounds to go, and I am happy to answer any and all questions.
