Surgery Complete

Sep 19, 2014

On the 9th I had my surgery.  They performed a gastric bypass as well as removed my gall bladder.  They also found a mass on my liver and removed it as well.  Luckily it was benign.  The doctor says it is common for anyone having been on birth control at one time.  A little over a week later and I am doing great.  I get tired every now and again, and the sight where I had the JP drain to drain the fluid from my liver is still sore.  Otherwise I am doing good.

I am on pureed foods now.  It's not so bad.  It is nice to have something in my mouth that is not sweet.  I haven't really felt real hunger but I occasionally have cravings for things that I won't be able to have until after the pureed period.  Like my Skinnytaste Chicken Tikka Masala.  During the surgery I swelled up and gained about 10 pounds of fluid.  I finally am back to the pre surgery weight and will start tracking my weight again.  Has anyone else had that problem?

Either way I am looking forward to the adventure ahead.
