Update

Jan 23, 2011

I had my surgery on 11/22/10.  Turned out to be  a big surgery.  I had a lot of scar tissue from a previous surgery and had to have a hernia repair removed that I had back is 2002.  Spent a week in the hospital and finally got to go home.  Was doing good and feeling good, then three weeks later during a trip to the grocery store, I started feeling bad, my heart was racing and I couldn't breathe.  Later in the day I decided to go to the ER.  There I found out I had several blood clots in my lungs.  I had to be taken by ambulance to Jackson two hours away where my surgery had been performed.  I spent another week in the hospital  getting this straight.  I've been put on Coumadin and am having weekly blood work done.  So far so good!  I'm feeling better, energy is picking up and am amazed at my state of mind!  Even after all I've been through, I have no regrets.  I do want to "munch" at times but have handled that well.  I do miss, however, going to the sink and drinking down a big glass of water!  But it's a worthwhile sacrifice!

Two months later ,I am down 49 pounds.  It's been unreal and fun all at the same time!  I'm wearing shirts that I picked out of a store...ones I didn't have to wait on the mailman to bring!  Have days protein shakes just make me want to say blah, blah, blah to...but weigh out the evils and have it anyway!  Vitamins are no fun...but I was already taking thirteen oral meds plus two types of insulin...so it's not new to me..AND..I have already been able to stop three of my original meds as of now.  Hoping the insulin goes next!  Oh, and not having to sleep with my CPap machine anymore...now that's nice!

Looking forward to what the next couple of months bring...looking forward to seeing the pounds drop, the meds drop and me finally being able to get UP!  It's so nice not to give out just washing dishes or pumping gas.

And another positive side...my 12 year old daughter has lost a few pounds too...she's only about 10 more pounds to being a normal weight for her age and height!  For that I'm truly proud.  Never want my angel to go through all of the things I've been through because of my weight!

Until next time... glad to be a loser!
