My story is no different than everyone else....I have been "chubby" all my life. Once I finished college and started working full time, the weight just began to pack on. I found out I had PCOS, which definitely attributed to it, but what I was eating had to do with it too. I have done diets and workout plans, lost some weight, gain it back plus some, start working out again, lose some, gain some, you all know what I mean! I got to be out of control when within a year after losing my grandmother I packed on 60 lbs! I had the hardest time getting rid of it, and finally I had enough. I started walking and doing HCG shots and lost about 20 lbs, meanwhile my doctor tried to encourage me to have WLS. I said no, I can do this my self! Oh yeah right...I kept most of the 20 lbs off, by walking everyday and taking some herbs that kept my system clean (which did wonders for my PCOS as well I must say) and my doctor approached me again about the surgery about a year or so later. I told him I didn't want to be cut open just for weight loss, he laughed and said you are not "cut open" like you are thinking, it is done laproscopicly (sp?). Hmmm...I thought that seems not as bad, so I promised I would think about it. I discussed with my husband, who always thought it was a good idea, and after a few months I decided to do it. I went to the information class, and as they say the rest is history! And here I am very happy and proud to have had WLS.
