Roy Shen

"My very first impression of Dr. Shen was that he was very task oriented. He was very willing to answer any questions after his explanations of the procedure he is doing for you. I also initially found him to be quite stoic with very little sense of humor but that was fine with me especially given it was my initial consult with him. Follow-ups with Dr. Shen proved to me that he was very thorough, caring and indeed have a sense of humor! I actually got him to crack a smile one time much to my surprise...His office staff at Emerson was caring and kind. They really went out of their way to see that all my needs were met. Though I felt at times that I may not be meeting the \"specified\" percentage of weight loss post-op. Perhaps it was me and that I felt that somehow my slower weight loss was in a way effecting the programs statistics in a negative way and I kind of strayed away from really opening up to them about a lot of the post-op problems I was having. But truly all in all I felt cared about and enjoyed my office visits very much. Dr. Shen was very quiet and very linical. He really didn't ask me a whole lot of questions about anything at my follow-ups really...pain, vomiting, weakness...he would come in feel around my belly, document his findings and send me on my way. He always seemed pleased with my weight loss progress even though I was not. rnThe NP on staff really was the one who examined me before all my appointments with Dr. Shen. She spent time checking me out and answering any of my questions. I do wish Dr. Shen would have asked me more questions at my appointments himself given how nervous I was each time we met and all rational thoughts would just fall right out my ears! I found Dr. Shen to be very specific about the risks of surgery...clear, concise and even graphic...I appreciated that. Overall I would rate Dr. Shen a fine bariatric surgeon. I found his surgical competence outstanding and his bedside manner very uncluttered, polite and in as I said previously my opinion stoic. If I was to do it all over again I'd seek out his expertise."

Feins Robert

"I've waited a very long time to finally take charge of my health. The first step was my gastric bypass and happily that went without any major hitches. I finally sought the expertise of Dr. Feins for the first step with my body sculpting procedures needed after massive weight loss and I'm happier every day that I did. Being a very anxious woman setting my mind at ease can be a challenge and Dr. Feins has handled it flawlessly from the very beginning. On my surgical morning after he mapped out my belly with his infamous purple marker in prep for my abdominoplasty he then turned to me in front of my family, looked me square in my eyes and said , "Deb from this moment on you are the most important person in the world to me. I promise to care for you to the best of my abilities. That is my promise to you." Happily, my initial post-op period was quite comfortable with excellent pain control. I have needed to have Dr. Feins work more closely with me than expected. But being a bariatric patient we enter into ps knowing that it sets us aside as more compromised patients on the surgical scale so complications are more of a concern. I am thankful mine are few in comparison to others but none the less mine have demanded more time with my PS. Dr. Feins is knowledgeable and very innovative in his field of plastic surgery. He is kind and patient and genuinely happy to see me each and everytime I enter his office. He treats me with respect and a genuine concern not found in many specialty surgeons these days in my opinion and that means a lot to me and has contributed positively towards my recovery. I know in my heart that no matter what my recovery period might throw my way with Dr. Feins by my side I'll get through it. Actually he tells me we'll get through it together...Now in my book of life that's a pretty fine doctor. i would recommend him for anyone seeking the expertise of a plastic surgeon. "

John Wheeler

"Dr. Wheeler has been our family physician for many years...he is a young, honest and very innovative physician. He has genuine caring attitude with a calming concern and compassion for his. He is upfront and honest and does not pretend to know what he does not know. Though he will tell you..."if I can't figure out a way to help you, I will find someone who can.""
