I will be having hernia repair surgery on February 21. I am not happy about it, but it's just something that has to be done. Please keep me in your prayers. My new pics are posted. I finally had the "guts" to post my before pic. Thanks to all of you who support one another. Momma Angel, you ARE an angel! Thanks! Diane

First, I want to thank everyone on this site for their help and support. I wish all preops who are having surgery soon good thoughts and prayers! It's been almost exactly 4 months since my surgery. I am 228, down from 288. My weight loss has slowed tremendously. I seem to be stalled for the last 2-3 weeks. Is this normal for this to happen? What do I need to do to make it move again? Once again, thank you for your help and support! diane

Congratulations on your first 50 pound loss! It is AWESOME. 50 pounds is a lot of weight and I know you feel great. Take everything one step at a time. We will get there!

DIANE~~ Here's a site that you can go to: http://www.pacificbariatrics.com/postopplanner.phtml - you put in your height and weight and desired % of loss and it will chart how much you should lose month by month for 18 months. I was feeling I was going slow, but I found out I'm actually on track to loose 90% of my excess weight! (I initially thought I'd be lucky if I lost 70%) Check it out- it will give you an idea of how you're doing.

Dinane, HUGGLES to you. Do not be discouraged. People lose at many varying rates. 50 pounds in less then 4 months is awesome. Look at your diet. Can you increase your protein, decrease your carbs, increase water and exercise? Those are tips that might speed along the process. What about your measurements? Are you keeping track of the number of inches that are melting off? Hang in there and keep up the great work. I bet that ""even though you have only lost 50lbs"" that you feel TERRIFFIC and have greatly benefited from your surgery. Take each pound loss as one that you will never see again and celebrate your success. KimmieTN
