Well, I'm 35 years old, overweight for most of my life. I have alot of friends and some family who have had the surgery and are in a much better place in their lives both physically and mentally. My husband of over 15 years, and I have decided to go through this journey together. We are both in the process of preparing for the surgery. My cousin and best friend had the surgery about 3 years ago and is doin well. We grew up together with pretty much the same lifestyles and family views on eating. We are 2 months apart in age so we have been practically sisters all our lives. She is living a very healthy lifestyle since her surgery. I also have many friends who have gone through the surgery including a friend who is approximately 8 weeks post op.. she is doing very well as well.
I am feeling better knowing that my husband is going through this with me and also that we have so many friends and family members who are very supportive. It's a relief that I will not have to go through this alone.
I am hopeing that my surgery will be by the end of February 2009. My husband hopefully by April or May of 2009.
