So here is he story of my downfall.

Apr 05, 2007

I maintained my goal weight of 135 (sz 7-9) for nearly 2 years after having my gastric bypass.  I could tolerate mostly anything but the stuff I never ate even before any surgery.... IE: fried meats, ice cream, high sugar sweets (mainly donuts), eggs, milk, and anything McDonald's or Chick-Fil-A (I think it was the oils they cook with)...  My husband and I had a baby in 2004 and another in 2005.  During my pregnancy in 2005 my "high school sweetheart" {gag} decided to come back around after almost 10 years and take our oldest son, and not bring him back.  Jumping back to 1995, I got pregnant... Mike didn't want kids... I wouldn't abort my baby... Mike kicked me out.  Because I was only 19 I didn't know to take the ass hole to court so I didn't.  My husband, Martin,  and I met when Justin, my oldest, was only 2 and he has raised him with me ever since.  Justin was taken out of my home for nearly a year while we battled in court to get him back.  I started having anxiety attacks and major stress.  Needless to say my grazing habits picked back up.  We got Justin back home but the habits were still there.... eat for comfort ... eat for boredom... eat for pain.  I have an incredible husband.  He has stuck with me through so much.  I have got my eating under control again..... and I know that food is my enemy...  so in no way will I ever graze again.  In fact after this past surgery i'm not even hungry at all, Thank God!  Since I was approved for this revision I have lost 36 pounds.  I seem to be at a plateau now (for the past 3 days) so I have stepped up my working out.  I am only 2 weeks post-op but am VERY impatient!  I am on a very soft diet, anything fat free and sugar free that can fit through a straw ( BUT DON"T USE A STRAW!!! ). It sure beats the clear liquid diet.  I think my only saving grace is that my Gastric "pouch" is still only about 2 ounces so the Lap-Band, once filled, will restrict to about 1 ounce.  It doesn't get filled for another 3 weeks so I am just using the one tool for now.  I am sure after my fill that my weight will continue it's rapid decline.... or at least I hope.  This is my last chance... I can't mess this one up!

I started my power walking tonight!

Wow my tummy is tiny!!!

Mar 24, 2007

everything went great with my surgery!  The ONLY issue I had was one of my little incisions came open a little and bled alot.  It looked like I had been shot because of the big oozing blood spot on my gown!  It has since closed back up.
The nursing staff was incredible at ETMC.  They really took care of me!  I love them!  a few even acted a little bummed that I was going home... I kept them laughing!
Well on to how I am doing now that I am at home...  I can only have 2 small sips of water every few minutes or so because my tummy is full with the 2 sips.  this pleases me!  I have already lost weight!   Thank you to everyone who said a little prayer for me!  Ya'll are incredible!

Some changes...

Mar 05, 2007

I just changed my status to surgery date scheduled from post-op.  My original surgery was an Open RNY on 4-9-02.  I made it to my goal in 10 short months.  Now being 5 years and 2 children later I am scheduled for my revision.  My surgeon is going to band over my original gastric pouch.  We will see if this surgery is as successful as the first.

Surgery is scheduled!

Mar 05, 2007

My revision surgery is scheduled for 3-23-07.  Dr.B is going to band over my gastric pouch.  This is my final chance to get my health back!  I am so excited to be a loser again!

So here is he story of my downfall.

The problem I ran into was that I could tolerate alcohol.  I LOVE wine and Margaritas.  In the end I truly believe this was my down fall.
