I am a 39 year old mother of two, who is happily married, and pretty much happy with her life. That is with everything but my weight. I have been overweight most of my life. I have, like all of you, tried all the diet programs, spent countless money on different diets, for the same effect..... NONE! So here we are, at the last resort...I have been thinking about this surgery for the last 5 years or so. I even tried to have the surgery back in 2003, but was denied by the insurance co. after all the seminars, test, evaluations...Boy, was I mistaken then about the possiblitiy of having a normal happy, healthy, active life...,I had almost given up, and my employer changed insurance companies. Which I have found out now, that covers the surgery if we meet the criteria. Boy do I ever.! I am excited, and a little scared of the things to come. I go to the seminar tonight., and this whole thing starts over. My husband has really been great all of these years, as the pounds keep creeping on. When I met him 16 years ago, I weighed on 172 lbs. With our first child, I almost lost him at 3 months, so they put me on bed rest, and the nightmare started all over again. I had managed to lose alittle over 100 lbs in the 2 1/2 years prior to meeting my husband, but this put a wrench in the works. But my childs life was worth it. Then I got comfortable because of his unconditional love, and continued to gain weight. Dont get me wrong, I knew I needed to stop, and tried, but everytime I failed, he would say..."Honey, I love you no matter what size you are. I love you, not your size. I would love you if you weighted 500 pounds! Now, that man really loves me, huh? He truely does. He hates to see me so unhappy about my self, and is really worried about the surgery, but we have agreed to try this. And, I know he will be there behind me 100%. My family and friends are also aliitle worried but happy for me. They just want to see be run and play with my children, and have a happy and productive life that we all deserve ........
