I exercise regularly and have gotten down to 200 lbs. I plan to go as low as 155. I will be pleased if I even reach 175. I love my band!

Losing Weight
Dec 17, 2008
I'm halfway to goal and I seem to think (internally) "Hey, I'm done right?" "I've worked hard enough". NOT!
Next year I'm getting back on the wagon. I am joining a twelve week workout/fitness program and am going to get some more of this weight off with or without restriction. I am determined to do it by myself!
Here here!

Year one in Review!
Sep 05, 2008
Year 1 Review: the good and bad! This will be an interesting huh?
I had my annual appointment today for year one. I had good and bad news. Let’s get the bad out of the way! Since my last un-fill six weeks ago I have gained almost ten pounds! I have slid into some old eating habits that I just have to stop. Okay on to the good news!
In the last year, I have lost fifty three pounds. I had that up to sixty three eh? I could shoot myself! Seriously. The nurse said that even at fifty three pounds, I’ve lost half of my excess weight and that is about normal for one year post op. She also said average weight loss in year two and three is twenty percent. I hope to do better than that but any loss is good.
Anyway - measurements were interesting. I never take them myself so I was fascinated with them. I lost 1.5 inches on my neck, 3.25 inches on my arms, 11 inches on my chest, 13 inches on my waist, 8 inches on my hips, 3 inches on my thighs and 1 inch on my calf’s. I guess I lost fewer amounts on my legs but they weren’t that big pre-op. I am down four clothing sizes on the top of my body and three on the bottom. I guess in a straight size dress that’s three overall, from 22 to 18.
In all, I had seven fills and three un-fills. I have a band that holds around 14 cc’s and I have around 13 cc’s in it right now.
So, It was a good year overall. I had my ups and my downs but I wouldn’t change anything. The overall result was good.
I got another fill today and hopefully that will get me back on track. I have started drinking my protein again every day. My focus for year two is: reduce or cut junk food and sweet intakes, increase activity.
My next weight loss goals are two hundred, one seventy five, and then one fifty five. My nurse convinced me that I can get to one fifty five even if it takes five years. As she explained, I shouldn’t give up at a number that is still overweight after all this work and trouble.
So, I’ve patted myself on the back but realized that I still have a lot of hard work ahead of me but I can do it! I’m going to refocus and get on the loosing path again! Here is to a great year two of my banded life!
Going back down!

July Sucks!
Jul 21, 2008
I go back to the doctor on Sept 5th for my first annual exam! I guess I'll get a fill then. So, anything I can get off before then is good.
I wanted to be at 200 pounds by then. I'm sitting at 220 pounds right now. YUK I won't make it but If I can get anything lower than 215 I'll accept it.
I'm going to have to get off my behind and exercise more.
What kind of foods can you eat?
Jun 26, 2008
--------------------
I am ten months out, very restricted and can't eat:
bread, eggs (unless they are mashed yolks), fried foods, breaded foods, tough or fibrous veggies like broccoli, sticky or large grains/pastas like rice or orzo or corkscrews, lettuce, raw cabbage, cereals that get mushy or are too hard.
What I can and do eat is lean meats cooked tender or rare (steak is getting very hard to eat even rare) with no extra's, whipped or soft foods, liquid foods, small cooked or tender veggies like peas, corn, cut up beans, fruits that are cut up or bite sized, stewed foods, protein drinks, potatoes are good if they are well cooked. etc.
of course snack foods nuts, crackers, and chips and deserts like ice cream go in too but I try to keep them to a minimum.
Summer of Love?
Jun 22, 2008
I had been really hating life because of that in the past. It is so nice to be lightened up both physically and mentally because of this little procedure I had.
I am still losing in steady pound or two increments each week. So what if It takes a long time, It's working.
I am staring 200 pounds in the face and that scale is going down, you'll see!
