Well, my story is similar to many OH members. I've been overweight since late elementary school. It's had a negative impact on my life and I wasn't able to manage my weight enough to have a good social life the way some people have. I've always been self-conscious about it and as I got older, used it as an excuse to hide from many social situations. Luckily, I didn't allow my weight to hinder other aspects of my life such as educational and career aspirations. Now that I've pretty much achieved quite a bit in those areas, I'm ready to get back to the social aspects of things. It seems a little late to me to be finally getting to this, but better late than never. I'M READY!

I'm also ready to feel good and look good, for me and my daughter. I don't want all of her young years to be affected by a mom who's too big to really get out and enjoy life with her. Although we do go quite a few places together for mom and daughter time, I want to be way more active with her and to incorporate exercise into our activities. She's still a very healthy size and I want to make positive changes before her health and weight are affected by  my bad habits. I know that having this surgery will allow me to do that. I'M READY!
