2 months post op, 65 lbs down and feeling great. No more insulin, no more diabetes medicine. My clothes are falling off me and they look funny because I have to cinch them up around my waist. I need to have my CPAP adjusted because the pressure is too high. Wondering if I can dump it altogether. Joint pain has decreased, thats a plus. I've had two strictures so far but the procedure to fix them was easy, the only unpleasant part about it was that numbing medicine they spray in your mouth before they sedate you. Even that stuff wasnt that bad. The second time, I think the doctor opened me up a bit too much. I could eat more than I thought I should be able to. But a couple of weeks later I feel my stoma is just about the right size again. I can eat about 4 to 6 ozs before I just cant eat anymore. My weight loss has slowed but I am still losing which is great. I still a tiny bit of pain in the upper part of my incision when I do too much but I guess thats to be expected. Otherwise I am gaining energy every day, I feel like getting up and walking and I feel like lifting weights and I amaze myself because I have NEVER wanted to exercise as long as I can remember, except maybe when I was around 18 to 20. Its really life changing, I'm really glad I did this.
