I had my 3 month check-up with Dr. Suh on Wednesday. I have lost a total of 75 lbs. I can't believe that it has already been 3 months. Time flies when you aren't eating.
Dr. Suh says that I should lose another 75 lbs in the next 3 months and then it will start to slow down unless I increase my exercise. I can't wait.
I am currently weighing in at 343 lbs. I haven't been at this weight in over 5 years. It feels so good...

It's been a while since I last posted. I am now down to 346.5 lbs.  I have lost a total of 72lbs since my surgey on April 30th. That's only 2 1/2 months!!!

This is the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I only wish that I had done it sooner. I am now wearing 26/28 size down from the 34 I was wearing!

Well just came back from my 3 week check-up. I have lost a total of 34 lbs. I am soooo excited.

Dr. Suh says that I will continue to lose at this rate for 5 months and then it will slow down, but I will continue to lose for 1 year. After that it will plateau.

Well, yesterday was my appointment with Dr. Suh and I had my first weigh-in. I lost 16.5 lbs the first week since surgery. I can't believe it!

This whole process seems surreal.  I keep thinking that I am going to wake up and have gained all my weight back.

I have already started planning everything that I want to do when I can. I want to go white-water-rafting, mountain biking, hiking, sky diving, para-sailing, and to every theme park.

   I can't wait!!!

Well, today it has been officially one week since my surgery. I have to say that I thought things would be a lot worse. I have been feeling great, full of energy. No complaints here.

I have been doing well with my liquid diet, but I am excited to start soft foods tomorrow after my doctors appointment. I am looking forward to eating fish, cottage cheese, yogurt, and all the other good stuff.

Tomorrow I see Dr. Suh and have my first official weigh in. I am so excited to see how much I have lost since surgery. I am really hoping to be under 400lbs. I know that that is a lot to ask. Let's just make under 400lbs my first goal.

I can't believe that I am officially on the other side. My surgery was on Monday, April 30th. I came home from the hospital today. It's so nice to be home.

I must admit that I am surprised that I am not in a lot of pain. Dr. Suh did give me a perscription for pain, but I havne't had to use it.

It was hard today to watch my family and friends eat, but I just sipped my apple juice and imagined how different my life is going to be.

It seems so weird to be at this point now. I can't believe that the day finally came and now there is no going back.

I am in it for the long haul.

I am now only 3 days away. I met with Dr. Suh yesterday and I lost 6.5 lbs since my last appointment. He went over everything with me again and offered to answer any questions that I had.

After his appointment I headed to Inland Valley Regional Medical Center in Wildomar for my pre-op. I completed some forms and recieved a breathing device called an incentive spirometer. I have to use this after surgery to assist in preventing pneumonia.

I am sooooo excited and sooo scared. I know that everything will work out for the best. It's just like ahhhhh, what am I doing? Why couldn't do this on my own? Have I really hit the point where I need surgery? Mayber I should just try one more time.

I just remind myself. I have tried, numerous times to no avail. I have done every diet and just can't make it work for me. This is the best decision for me. This is what I need to do for me to ensure my future.

See you on the other side........

I'm approved!!! I have been scheduled for surgery on Monday, April 30th. I can't believe that I am only a week away from the rest of my life.

I have to admit that while I am very excited, I am also a little scared. I don't know if it's the thought that I won't ever be able to eat the same again, or if it's the fact that my life is going to be completely different. I guess that it's a little of both.

I will keep you updated. I have an appointment with Dr. Suh on Thursday and a pre-op that same day. We will see how it goes...

I spoke with the surgeons office today and I have been approved by the surgeon for surgery. They are just waiting for approval from my insurance and they will schedule the big day.

Tomorrow I have a patient education class to attend. I am looking forward to it. I can already feel the thin me trying to get out.

Today I met with my surgeon, Dr. Suh, for the first time. He came accross as extremely kind and knowledgable.

He gave me some info that I was already working on, such as avoiding carbs until surgery to allow my liver to shrink. He also went over the tests that I would need, but I have already comlete them.

At this point I am just waiting for him to go over my tests and give approval. Once he does this my doctor can submit for authorization to my medical group for the surgery. They say that I may be scheduled as eary as next week or the week after. I can't believe it's finally here!
