Wow, it has been 6.5 weeks since my RNY.  I am pretty happy with my progress, not super fast but it has been pretty steady.  I am getting an around 750 - 800 calories and ~70 grams of protein per day.

Been trying to do the 4 week high protein low carb PRE-OP diet.  Had lost 10# then gained 3ish back, I think mostly water.  This past weekend the in-laws were in town and we had a couple of birthday dinners eating out celebrations.  I did OK but did not follow the HP/LC diet very well.  I decided to try mainly a liquid diet this last week.  For 2 days I have been successful.  Each day I did have a bowl of beef vegetable soup.  I think what made it possible is Inspires Peanut Butter Cookie protein drink mix.  I don;t know if I will like it post-op but for now it is AWESOME.  I am now down a total of 12.5#.  I haven't had regular coffee in over a week and have only had decaf for the past 2 days.

Dr. Fegelmans office called today to schedule my Roux-en-Y surgery.  They got the approval from Humana today.  My date is August 3rd, 2009.

I mowed the front lawn this morning.  Got through most of it until I had to take a cool down break.  I am not sure of the temperature but I think it was in the high 80's.

I was hoping all the outside work would get done early so we could all swim while the sun was high in the sky.  Well that didn't happen but Bill did finally get the new pool light working; just took 2 whole weeks!  Now we can call the inspector and finally get the trenches backfilled and seeded.  It has been hard to work on all sides of my garden with the mounds of dirt back there.

My dad has his psych eval on July 10th for his Roux-En-Y.  He has had to get a lot more testing done than I have since he is in his 70's and diabetic.

The Weight Management Center called and said they have my paperwork completed.  Once they have my $200.00 fee they will submit it to Humana for pre-certification.  I went ahead and gave them the payment over the phone.  Gee, I hope that was really the surgeons office since I gave them my credit card number.

Up to 2 weeks for approval then 4 more weeks until surgery date.  So the soonest the surgery could be is July 31st.  If this is the case I will miss all of my tomatos ripening this year!

Of Course Humana could deny or file an extension.

It is in the 90's today.  Hopefully we get into the pool this evening.

For some reason Corey took all of his meds this morning before going to Wasserman.  So he had 120mg time released Propranolol and 0.1mg Clonidine.  I guess he didn't pass out since the school didn't call me back.  I bet he through them into somebodies yard and did not take them.  Probably explains his behaviors if he is not taking his meds correctly.

I faxed my PCP all of the forms that my surgeons' team needs to get the pre-cert application processed.

We had family theapy with our adopted sons counselor.  She is going to recommend that Corey goes to outpatient sexual offender treatment since he is not following through on treatment with her.

Tomorrow we have an appointment with Coreys juvenile probation officer.  His behaviors have gotten worse lately and since he threatned Rachael (my 20yr old daughter) with a baseball bat we have grown more concerned.  I doubt anything will be done but at least there will be a record of our concern.

I had my mental health evaluation today, much simpler than I expected.  I had a very short questionnaire, it seemed that it was geared towards rooting out depression.  The counselor asked me questions about my personal history; basic medical background stuff.  She went over what the process would be from here on.  We talked about the support systems I have in place and how I would be expected to go to some of the groupd before and after my surgery.  We did speak about how most of my stress and anxiety comes from the 14 year old boy my husband and I adpoted from foster care 4.5 years ago.

The counselor mentioned how some people feel that my surgeon is not real personable.  I thought that during my consult with him that we sort of spoke the same language.  I work in biomedical research so I am used to working with people who are very focused on their work: ok, well some people call them science NERDS.  (Think about the T.V. series "The Big Bang Theory.")  Anyway, I was very comfortable with my surgeon.

The center is waiting on one more piece of information from my PCP.  This is my fault, I thought they just needed my weight history on letterhead.  I guess they also want my latest physical information and labs also.  I had my physical 2 weeks ago, but my fasting labs are not until July 2nd.
