I have been overweight for about 16 years.  I tried dieting and exercise to lose my weight but was never successful in losing more than 10 or 15 pounds except for the one time that I lost 50 pounds.  After gaining weight I was diagnosed with diabetes.  In the last couple of  years I have begun to run into diabetic complications.  I now have macular edema.  I have practically lost my sight in my right eye.  This is very scary, not to mention the fact that my hobby is reading, I also am the mother of 8 and a homeschooler.  I am also a student.  I do not want to go completely blind.  I decided that I needed to do something so, I started looking into having a pancreas transplant but found out I did not meet the critera for that surgey.  I then forund out about bariatric surgey and how it helped others who were diabetic.  I have lost family and friends to the complications of diabetes and am also seeing people who are battling this disease and losing, this is so very depressing.  As anxious as I am about having this surgey I am willing to trust that the Lord has given me this information and oppotunity as a second chance at life I pray that He will bring me through and I will give Him all the glory for He is truly worthy!!!!!!
