1 Year Out

Aug 11, 2008

I missed the one year mark on here, but I didn't in my head.  I ended up moving my son into his dorm.  Last year I couldn't do that because I was recovering.  What a difference a year makes!

I also shopped in a very special shop here in Omaha.  One I have been a window shopper of for years.  You know the store, beautiful clothes for beautiful skinny people.  Well, I went in and shopped their clearance rack.  I found two tops that were mediums....of course I had to buy them.

Bill and I went to dinner.  I posted the pic.  He is amazing.  I love him.

Now, over the year

Size 20 to size 8.  Think I will get to a 6....it is close at some of the stores I shope.

Tops 1X=2X to a medium

Met many of my goals.  I am off all medication.  I am running and working out.  I feel great.  I have a ton of energy.  The change is amazing.  Sometimes I feel like a teenager.

My surgeon is moving and this is traumatic....but I will get t hrough it.

WOWZA

Sep 06, 2007

Yesterday someone told me that they thought I was a size 12.  I thought that they were on crack.  I just started wearing my 18s...so it really seemed impossible.  Today I went and tried on clothes just for the heck of it and I got into a pair of 14s.  Not 12s mind you but still pretty amazing.  I told my dh and he said that I get smaller everyday!  I am so stoked.  Lori is doing great too.  It is so nice to finally know that you are going to lose weight.  I was talking with Lori and every year I promised myself that this would be the year that I would lose the pounds and that this would be the year that I would wear a sexy holiday dress.  I realized that this is  the year.  I could not be happier.

I also just feel so much better!!  I am working out everyday and I am not taking my BP medicine.  This surgery changes lives.

update

Sep 04, 2007

wow!  I can't believe a month has past since my surgery.  I started back to work and I am doing very well!  I have been walking daily and started pilates yesterday.  I am down to 218 which is exciting!!  I can't believe I started this journey at 256 (of course Mexico helped the weight loss!)

I am still on mostly liquids.  Next week, I get to start more food choices.

It is FINALLY here

Aug 01, 2007

Tomorrow is the day.  I have started the prep work (yuck) and I am obsessing about food.  That totally sucks!  I have not obsessed about food at all this summer and here I am-thinking about everything I want to have.  I am feeling peaceful about the decision.  I know it is the right thing to do.  I am nervous about the surgery but that is to be expected!

I thought of other goals:

Shop at the cute shop in Papillion
Going on a shopping trip to KC.

Scheduled and biopsy results

Jul 10, 2007

Great news all around.  My biopsy results are back and they thing the growths in the colon are just new tissue replacing the infected tissue.  I am thrilled with this.  Dr Sudan reviewed the results and said we were good to schedule.  My date is Aug 2.  I can't wait.

My friend Lori just had her surgery done last Thursday.  She is doing well.  I think just going through the normal struggles of comfort management and getting in all her protien and water.

test done

Jun 28, 2007

Well, I am through the colonoscopy.  They ended up having to biopsy some things that they found.  But the didn't see signs of IBD or Crohn's.  Hopefully that is a good thing.  I will find out more information next week.

Update for June

Jun 20, 2007

Well, I am still fighting my friends from Mexico.  I go back to the dr tomorrow for a follow up visit and to schedule the colonoscopy.  Hopefully, I will get this all done soon.  I have lost about 8lbs since I got home from the hospital, but that being said I am totally eating differently right now.  I am anxious to get the all clear so that I can schedule my date.

I heard from the surgeon's office yesterday and they were ready to schedule.  I had to remind her about my situation (logically--how on earth would she remember that kind of information about all of their patients) and we will discuss the next steps after the colonoscopy.  I hope it comes back all clear.
