I am a 50 year old married father of 3 who has struggled with his weight his whole life. I went through the motions, pretending to be living my life when all I was doing was being a spectator in the lives of the people around me. My health was poor, my self image was negative and life wasn't fun for me. Then through a series of events, fate intervened and I decided to have a gastric bypass. That was two years ago. Today my life could not be better! I have a wonderful, supportive wife of 26 years , three amazing children that I'm so proud of and THEY have a husband and father that is healthy and living life to the fullest! I have also been blessed along my WLS journey by making so many awesome friends who share my new life with me. To my family and new friends, thank you for being there for me...I LOVE you all !!

I have learned a lot these past 2 years, but the most important thing I've learned is that the key to success with WLS is SUPPORT !!! Being around other WLS people, sharing their struggles and their victories has given me the motivation to work the "tool" I have been given every day.  I have found a great support group, LIPO (Long Island Post-Ops) and together we inspire and encourage each other to be the best we can be! If I can give a word of advise to anyone reading this, it would simply be this...find the support group that works for you, attend the meetings, become active in the group and not only will you will make the best friendships you've ever had, but you WILL become the best you that you can be and you WILL succeed on your WLS journey.   Good Luck...you can do it !!!
