I have been obese all my life. I am afraid if I do not have a life style change I will not be around in 15 years. I started to research Gastric By-pass about 10 years age when a good friend had it done by Dr. Murr at Tampa General. Since that time I have 9 people that I know who have had one. All have had great results and only one has had any complications. The last two to have one has been my brother who is 4.5 weeks post and has lost 26#. My sister is about 3 years and will not tell you her Loss but she does look good. A year ago I looked into if my insurance would cover by-pass surgery. My insurance will not cover anything related to obesity. 4 weeks ago I started to look into cost to have a by-pass done and pay for it myself. I have secured financing and now would like Dr. Small @ Mease Hospital in Safety Harbor Fl to do the surgery. I have attended a informational session and now I am trying to move to the next step in the process.
