holy cow - I'm on the countdown now!!!!!

Met with the physical therapist yesterday and the dietitian today. All I have left now is the personal trainer and the psych eval (which is Thursday June 6. Today at the dietitian I saw what the lap band looks like. I wanted to see it and was so happy she had one. It's really cool! Weight at doctor today: 269 I am going to try to shed about 10 lbs before my surgery.

Pumonary function test CHECK Bloodwork CHECK Chest Xray CHECK EKG CHECK I'm getting closer! Meeting with the physical therapist 5/31 and dietician 6/1

It took exactly one week, 5 business days, and my insurance approved me! Now I schedule the pshych eval, the NUT and the PT and I get a date! Woohoo!

Well, the doctor's office FINALLY sent my paperwork to insurance.  Sheesh!  I am getting old here!  Yowsa - I cannot believe what a process it was just to get them to do that.  I feel like a total nag.  I know they have had changes in personnel staff but I tell ya - it should not have taken this long.  Now insurace has 14 days to render a response.  After that (they have no reason to disapprove) I have to do my psych eval, meet with the dietician and the physical therapist.  Then I'm on my way!!  No more hurdles!

It probably doesn't help that the new patient coordinator no longer works at the clinic.  Dang...I am ready to roll!

My bloodwork came back and I am pre-diabetic and my cholesteral is really high.  

Go back to my PCP for a follow up tomorrow morning and then in the afternoon I'm off to my consult!

I was so nervous about asking my doc for a referral to the WL surgeon. The surgeon requires it. My doc was super-supportive and she even said she would order bloodwork to see if my cholosteral was high, as that is considered a co-morbidity. Awesome! She is so wonderful. So I have to do a 12-hour fast and have the bloodwork done on Friday. I go back next Wednesday and we discuss the results and she signs my referral letter. Height: 5'9" Weight: 261

Today I stopped by the clinic and my weight is 241. I feel fat today. Head/mental stuff I guess. I'm down 31 lbs, and today it's been 8 weeks since I was banded! Yipee!
