I received the call on Sat 9/22/07 that my chart is moving from Barix insurance down to the clinic for Dr. Pupkova to sign off on it.  All my testing has been completed.  I am so nervous  about this.  I am also very excited that I am coming closer to scheduling a date.   This is such a strange roller coaster ride.   I can only see one main obstacle standing in my why.  The weight that I have gained from my initial consultation until now.  I have gained some weight and positively have to lose it before I see Dr.Pupkova again.  This is easier said than done.

  I received approval from BC yesterday and I have mixed emotions.  One minute I feel like this   and the next minute I feel like this  !   I realize this is normal and truthfully, I can't wait to start my journey to a new healthy lifestyle.  I hope the scheduling of the surgery doesn't take to long.  I read so many posts from different people saying that Barix takes forever to schedule.  I will pursue them faithfully.

Today, Wednesday 6/13th I had my abdominal ultrasound and my sleep study consult.  I also heard from my GI drs office and we are scheduling my colonoscopy. I'm on the way!!!

I went to Barix Clinic in Langhorne on Thursday. The clinic appeared clean but I would have like to have a tour of the actual hospital and not just the consult rooms.  The staff seemed to know what they were doing and Dr. Pupkova seemed well educated.  She certainly wants all the right tests done. It made me feel more confident that she didn't want to jump right into the surgery.  She wants to be sure that every problem is fully investigated before saying "Let's do it!"  
  The timing of this appointment worked out perfectly since I had an appt with my family doctor the following day.  Now I'm in the process of scheduling all the appointments.  I have to have a stress test, a colonoscopy, gastroscope, ultrasound, and sleep study.  Wow, that's so many test.

June 7th, 2007 - This is the date of my initial consultation with Barix Clinix in Langhorne.  I like the fact that they specialize in surgery just for obese patients.  To me this is a plus.
   In my mind, I am leaning towards LapBand but until I have my meetings and do more research, I'm going to leave all options open!
