Hey everyone, I just talked to Gar!!! She is still hospitalized and very weak, but determined to get better and get on with her life. After a second scope and upper GI they have determined that indeed the Ulcer in her new pouch is the culprit. They have started her on new medication which seems to be somewhat helping. She sounds very weak, but really wants to get home to her house and her dogs. They are continuing to give her nutrition and fluids via infusion. They have no idea when she will be released so everyone, please, take just a minute and help to cheer her up, she really needs your support and caring. If you have had problems with your surgery you know how she feels, if you, as I, had virtually no complications, take a min and thank God and then give your Sister some support. God bless you all, wherever you are in your journey. Pastor Kay

Dear Gar...I was so sorry to hear of your problems. I pray this hospitalization will be the one that cures. I'm awaiting my first endoscopy on July 9th...just suffering 'til then. Some of us don't exactly have "smooth sailing" do we? All your friends on the board are very concerned and praying for you. Love and hugs, Joy

Gar, So terribly sorry to hear that you are still having problems. I pray that everything will be quickly figured out and resolved so that you can begin the process with some joy added to it. You are a most special person and many, many at AMOS feel that way, too. Keep the faith, sweetie! It WILL get better.

THIS MESSAGE WAS POSTED TO GAR'S PROFILE PAGE: June 24, 2002 Hi, I'm Garnys' sister, Myrna. Garnys was admitted to the hospital last Thursday (for the third time). She is still having trouble keeping anything down. They have scheduled a second endoscope to see if they can discover any additional causes. The scope on June 1 displayed an ulcer but three weeks of treatment has made no difference in her ability to eat or drink. We're hoping that today's tests will shed some light on her condition. She has had too many IV's to count - either at her three hospital stays, her six emergency room visits or her 3 trips to the Infusion Center. Has anyone else experienced similar problems after surgery? Was it resolved? I'm sure Garnys would appreciate anyone having similar problems or just some words of encouragement and wisdom. You can reach her at [email protected]. GAR, PLEASE TAKE CARE AND KNOW THAT WE ARE ALL PRAYING FOR YOU! HUGS....
