It's been awhile.

OK-actually, its been WAY too long.
So, I saw my dietician Tuesday and am proud to say that my total weight loss is now at 45 pounds!
My problem is that I am not eating much at all. I either have no appetite at all or I am REALLY hungry but, unlike the past, it is not important enough to my brain to go find something to eat and eventually the hunger goes away.
I am really good at drinking my protein shakes because they are part of a routine for me-I make one before I leave for work and one when I settle in after work and school at night. But actually eating a meal is not something that I am doing. My dietician asked me to count my calories for a few days and I was shocked and embarassed to say that I was only getting approx. 450 calories a day!!
So what is my solution? I have an alarm set to go off every 2-3 hours to remind me to eat something!
I can't tell you how humorous this is to me, because only 3 months ago I couldn't stop eating. My body ALWAYS thought about eating. Now, it doesn't and I am having to basically use an alarm for my brain!
The problem, I found out this week, from not eating enough is low immunity and I got the flu and it hung with me for a good 3 solid days. If that isn't enough motivation to get some quality nutrition in this body-I don't know what is.
I hope anyone reading this is doing well.
I will update information and my progress more frequently, if not just for my own well being:)

2 weeks post op
Jan 02, 2008
Happy New Year!
I am 2 weeks post op and feeling pretty good-although, I still get tired doing the simplest tasks.
I am on the full liquid diet, but get to start the pureed food on Friday-can't wait for that!
I actually felt hungry yesterday and I was terrified, because I read and hear from people who have had the surgery and my dietician that I shouldn't have an appetite-I kept thinking: "something is wrong".
I lost 23 pounds on the 2 week liquid fast prior to surgery. Won't weigh myself again until I see the dietician later this month.
Excited for 2008 and all the changes it promises to bring!

I have a date!
Nov 22, 2007
I am scheduled for December 18th! The best Christmas gift I could give myself!
My family and friends are beginning to show their fear, which I assume is normal. I am trying my hardest to assure them that I have done as much education as possible and I am confident in my decision to have this surgery. Their fear is understandable and I know they will support me!
I am nervous about my liquid diet, ecspecially being around all the Christmas goodies, but I am so excited that I think it will be a great motivator. The thought of not chewing anything for 2 weeks, though, is unimaginable!
Had a great Thanksgiving meal-didn't eat too much but enjoyed every bite.
More later....
