Weighing In

Feb 01, 2008

I'm down to 186!!!!  Only two more pounds until a 90 pound loss.

I am at the point where I get hungry once in awhile, so I do have to be careful about giving in to cravings.  I'm sticking to my diet like a champ.  Every single day someone tells me how amazing I look.  Every day someone asks me how much weight I've lost.  It's just so inspiring and motivating.

I got new shirts this week...all 14/16's.  Still in a size 16 bottom, but only because of my belly.  My legs and butt could easily fit into a 14 or a 12, but my belly is still a 16.  Also got new bras....38C's!!!  I haven't been in a bra in the 30's since I was a teenager.  And normal size underwear too!  No more plus sizes at all.  It's incredible.

New pictures soon, I promise.

I need to take new pix.

Five Months Out

Jan 07, 2008

It's been five months since my RNY.

As of today, I've lost 83 pounds and currently am tipping the scale at 191.

I feel like a new person.

This surgery did exactly what I wanted it to do...and I'm doing the rest.

Life is wonderful and I'm happier than I ever knew I could be.

Yay for taking chances!

193.2 today.

Total loss: 81lbs.

Happy, happy, happy.

Monday Morning, Official Weigh In

Dec 12, 2007

If forgot to post on Monday...but today I was 195.8

I was supposed to go see Dr. Moon today for my follow-up, but we're getting a ton of snow and I can't drive that far in the bad weather.  It's just too dangerous.  I'm sad to miss my appointment though, I haven't seen him since I left the hospital because all of my other follow-ups were with Angie.

Things continue to go well.  I'm losing tons of hair, but I always had enough hair on my head for five people, so no one but me realizes that it's falling out.  I take the Biotin every day and I make sure I get enough protein and vitamins...so there's not more I can do but wait it out.

Monday Morning, Official Weigh In

Nov 19, 2007

203 today.  Things are slowing down a little I guess.  I'm extremely tired all the time.  I'm doing everything that I'm supposed to, except for exercising.  I just feel so completely exhausted that exercise is the last thing on my mind.  I work all day, come home to a messy house and things that need to be done...and then I crash.  I know that I'm going to have to get a grip and start doing some sort of exercise, but right now it's just overwhelming.

204 this morning!  70 pounds GONE!

12 Weeks Out Today

Oct 28, 2007

209 this morning.  Twelve weeks ago today I had my surgery.  I've thrown up exactly one time, from tuna fish.  I've yet to experience anything near "dumping".  I can eat up to 3/4 of a cup of most foods...although meat, pasta, and anything with a "greasy" aspect doesn't feel good and I keep those things to less than a half a cup at a sitting.

Typically, this is what I eat:

Morning, 16ozs of protein shake and my vitamins/meds.

Late morning snack: Half a bag of Crum Creek Soy bites, or an individual cheese stick/slice.

Lunch: Two slices of rolled up sandwich meat and one slice of cheese, or a half cup of something left over from dinner the night before, or 1/4 of a turkey sandwich, or 1/2 of a Lean Cuisine.

Dinner: Whatever I've made for the family, but I eat protein as the main portion and maybe a tablespoon or two of anything else.

Late snack: Sugar Free Pudding cup or an Edy's Sugar Free ice cream bar.

Every once in awhile I throw in a protein bar or a handful of popcorn or a couple of tortilla chips.  That's about it.  I eat a lot of meat and cheese and that makes me happy.  I was always a big meat eater before surgery, and I've always loved cheese.

I still rarely feel actual hunger.  Occasionally, if it's been many hours since I've had something I feel a tiny twinge, but it's nothing like real hunger.  If I wanted to, I could easily live on just the liquid protein shakes.

Now I just need to get busy with an exercise program and I'll be doing great!
