My name is Gretchin and I have been wanting to have gastric bypass for a very long time, just havent had the money to actually get it done I guess, but now I have found the most wonderful doctor in Georgia, his name is Dr Charles Ferguson and I went to my first appointment last week with him . He explained in great detail everything that would go on before and after the surgery, the things that I will have to give up that I love which is COKE A COLA , but I can honestly say that I have not had a coke in 9 days now , nothing but water and propel drinks or crystal light, but mostly water. I prayed that God would help me with this to be able to enjoy the water and it is really working , it actually tastes good. My husband is standing by my side with whatever I choose to do. I went to see my dietition today and she gave me a real eye opener as to what I am eating . I didnt know anything about counting carbs or anything else for that matter. If I was hungry , I ate. I lost my father in February of 2008, and that was where my breaking point was with food. I became I guess you could say depressed and obsessed . I ate for every reason you could think of. I dont think that I am an ugly woman by no means, but I have really let myself go and I am sick of living like this. I now weigh 299 pounds as of today. Well, this is the beginning of my new life. My nurse told me that I should be ready for surgery January of this coming new year ......That is the best celebration I could ever ask for, A NEW ME!!!!
