9/02/09--Had my appt with my surgeon today, i saw 2 people before him. The appointment lady, and the surgical nurse. the nurse took vitals and the normal stuff, then the surgeon came in and stated " So you are having bypass surgery, do you have any questions?. I stated that im familiar with the procedure, ive watched it several times on the internet. And he said 'you need th get the weight off, no offense" and i agreed with him and i also asked about the rumor that when you have this surgery that a nerve is cut and that your not hungry anymore. He replied that they dont cut nerves but you will go through a hormonal change that will make you less hungry.

Surgical Weight loss assessments

Aug 25, 2009

August 10.2009

I had an appt with the bariatric team at my hospital which included:

1. Psych Evaluation: Lasted about an hour basically talking about my past as far as eating habits, upbringing etc.

2. Nurse: The bariatric nurse was very through about explaining the surgery which i had selected (gastric bypass) and the
many changes that come with it. She stated that she had gastric bypass and had loss 160 pounds and has
kept it off for 6 yrs. But she also stated it was tuff at times but well worth it.

3. Nutritionist: The nutritionist explained the whole preop and post op diet.

4. Insurance lady: For a lack of a better term,. went over the insurance requirments and paper work.

Weight loss seminar

Aug 25, 2009

August 6,2009

Had my weight loss seminar, it was very informative. The doctors were very frank about the procedure and the way it would change our everyday lives. The only thing i got upset about is when the questions starting flying, about half the room got up and left, I thought that was very rude,.these doctors took time to go over something of great importance and people just didnt seem to care. I told my wife apparently these people aren't serious about changing there lives for the better.
