Hi Tammy! Congrats on your weight loss and meds change. I too am on thyroid meds, and have been for my entire life (22 years). They have never been lowered, only upped. Hopefully I will be at the same place you are in a few months. Thanks for the motivation, and good luck on the rest of your journey!

Tammy, Thanks for your encouraging words. It's nice to hear from someone nearby who has had the operation. I'm excited, not nervous and am very ready to go for it. Cathyrn Warsh

Silly me!!!! I guess it might help if you actually had the website. lol Lot on my mind lately. Here it is: http://www.weightlosssurgery.com/dietary.htm

Dear Tammy, My doctor has a website with a sample diet showing you how to get in all your protein. At the very end of the very long page there is a protein supplement that you can purchase. You can call the phone # listed there. If you purchase 2, you get one free. I am still pre-op so have not tasted it, but I have been told it is good. You can mix it in yogurt or in milk or eat it plain if you like. Our dietician also said they are coming out with another protein supplement that is to be even better like in the next week or so. This stuff is so complete that you do not have to take any added vitamins or minerals, it includes it all except if you are low on iron, you may need extra iron. I was told it last about 3 months and it costs around 65.00. Hope I am remembering that right. If you call my doc office, the dietition will send it to you and you can ask him all the details. Hope this helps. Good Luck to you!
