1 year anniversary

Just went and had my one year check up with Dr. Bordelon. He didn't even recognize me in the waiting room! He said he couldn't be happier with the results of my surgery and said to keep it up!

5 months

Just added my 5 month pictures. Why is it that you look one way when you look in the mirror then you take your picture and you look totally different??
Well tomorrow is my 5 month surgery anniversary. Seems like a lot longer. These pictures aren't the best, had to take them with my phone so they are a bit blurry, 12 year old daughter doesn't have steady hands I guess. :-)
Now, of course I would never leave the house with this kind of shirt, I wore a long sleeve shirt over it. I have a LOT of work to do on my arms before I can wear a tank top in public. Very loose bat wings. But I just couldn't resist taking a picture, I am actually starting to get a waist and some curves instead of rolls!
Went to the nutrionist the other day and I am now down 80 pounds and I took my measurements again, down a total off 55.5 inches.
We joined the gym as a family and have been working out every day this week. It's great! I never thought I would say that about exercise. I have been able to do things I never thought I could. I have been riding the bike and reading my book at the same time. Went over 8 miles last night and didn't even know it.
Hopefully if I can keep up with that I will start firming up all my loosy goosey skin.

4 months out

Feb 28, 2008

WOW! I can't believe it's only been 4 months. It seems like so much longer. I am losing weight like crazy, can't believe how fast it is coming off. I finally got the courage to put up my horrible before picture along with my 4 month picture. My before picture just makes me sick and breaks my heart. I never saw myself looking like that. My 4 month picture I got very brave and wore a sweater that I thought was too tight on me but it turns out that it fits just right. I am just so used to wearing my clothes so big and baggy. I got so many compliments the day I wore that.
I have been so lucky with the outcome of my surgery. There is so much that doesn't bother me. Sometimes I think that is good and others I think it is bad. Hardly anything makes me sick, only had a couple times of getting sick. Once eating white rice and the other because I ate too much too fast. Other than that, I can pretty much eat whatever I want.
We are planning a trip to Disneyland before school starts up again in August, it will be my daughters and my first time. We are beyond excited. I have never seen the beach or an ocean so I am hoping I will be in good enough shape to wear some sort of bathing suit and go swimming and lay at the beach.

Inches lost

Jan 02, 2008

I had my mom take my measurements the day before my surgery and had her take them again on New Year's Eve. I have lost a total of 38 inches and 57 pounds!!!! I couldn't believe it.  I finally went to a thrift store this weekend and bought 4 pairs of pants and 4 or 5 shirts....enough to get me through another month or two. It's amazing how you can really see the change when I wear clothes that aren't too big for me. I came back to work today and a couple of people have been out for two weeks and they couldn't believe how much I had lost. They told me over and over how good I looked....what a confidence booster!
