"My husband met with Dr Tersigni in June, had his LAP RNY on 8/30. But let me back up a little... we had gone to a seminar in the Southern part of our state (not naming any names.. but) I felt that all they were after was numbers to show to the Center of Excellence program, to become a Center of Excellence. I left that seminar, not feeling very good at all about them. Had about decided that IF he was going to do this we were going to Portland. Our primary Dr. told us to check with Coos Bay.. my thought was \"CoosBay???!! You have GOT to be kidding -- you don't go to Coos Bay for surgery\" but I called his office. Dr was out of the country at a seminar / clinic, so I got to speak with Robin, his program co-ordinator... WOW! After 20 minutes on the phone with her, I felt like my husband would have a chance at this surgery helping his diabetes and high blood pressure. So we went to that June consultation! I left that appointment feeling VERY confident in the Dr's skills, along with having met some of the staff.. they are AWESOME!!! I don't use that word lightly, they are truly caring, helpful, respectful people that want you to understand everything. Mindi was great, as was Nancy.. she handled the insurance portion for us, and boy did that lady have to fight for my husband, but she did. Would call every couple of days and let me know what the Ins. Co was trying to change.. my husbands surgery is a result of her going above and beyond the call of duty. Dr Tersigni doesn't do seminars, he wants to meet each patient one on one, which I thought was very nice. If you aren't in his area, he will give a the paperwork, so your local lab can run the tests as well Dr Tersigni spoke with me after the surg., and this was the first time my Dad had met/seen him. My dad was impressed with him, just from the up-date . Robin came to the hospital on the day of his release (bear in mind this was Labor Day weekend) and gave me 3 different #'s to call her in case i had any questions. As an overall rating I would give him and his staff a 9 3/4.. only because no one is perfect! If you have never trusted any Dr., now is the time.. Dr Tersigni is great and will help you! As a side note my husband is 5 weeks out-- has lost 47#'s , Blood pressure is normal, and Blood sugar levels are just above normal, and they haven't been there in years!"
