~*~*ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY*~*~

Apr 29, 2007

Very hard to believe but it's been ONE YEAR since I had my surgery!  Wow...

I am still stuck hovering at 186 which seems to suit me just fine.  My neighbor (a man) called me "Skinny Minny" yesterday which made me laugh.  I've never been called "skinny" of any sort before.  A nice feeling.

I've lost a total of 137 lbs. in the past year.  Unthinkable!  I would be very happy to remain at the weight I currently am but I think I could possibly lost 10 more pounds.

This was the B*E*S*T thing I have done for myself!

I lost TWO pounds!  WOOHOO!  Finally, the scale moves.

Down 137 lbs. to 186.

Just thought I'd update my profile with that little tidbit of info!  I know, two pounds isn't all that exciting but it sure is better than nothing!

My ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY is coming up in just over a week.  I can hardly believe it.  A year.  Where did time go?  I never thought I could lose about 140lbs. in a years time.  Never!  It's incredible.

Almost forgot to mention one thing.  I'm wearing mostly size 12's now.  I think once I can fit comfortably in 10's, that's when I'm done losing!

Yes, I'm still here!  Nothing much new to post so have stayed away for the most part.

I've been hovering between 188-190lbs. for what seems like a month now!  Do you think Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies have anything to do with that?  Just kidding but really......I think I could be doing a bit better.  I just have to stop eating in between meals.  Hang on...let me put this cookie down!  HA!

Today I was at the mall stalling before I had to meet a friend for lunch.  (Soup/Salad @ Olive Garden!)  TOTALLY splurged on an awesome Ralph Lauren outfit for spring/summer.  They are pink/khaki madra's type capri's.  Very yuppy looking!  The top is long sleeved in a sweatshirt type material with a very deep V in front.  MUST wear a shirt underneath!  Just adorable.  Anyhow, the point I'm making here is that I bought the top in a size Large and the bottoms in a size TEN!  Yes, a 10!  Nothing like something to look forward, too, huh?

They look small but I think that is the next size I'll be heading to.  I never would have thought I could fit in a ten.  Not that I have yet, but you know what I mean.  Right?  RIGHT?  (thank you!)

Next stop....knocking off the in between snacks.  Hope to see less of me soon!

Down 135lbs!!!!
I weigh 188 today!

My next goal (which may be my last when it comes to weight loss) is to fit in a size 10 jeans.  Was I in 2nd grade the last time I wore a size 10?  Just a joke!

Down 131 lbs. as of today!  Scale dropped a couple of miraculous pounds between yesterday and today.  Not sure how that happened but I'm not questioning it!

I now weight 192 lbs.!  Of course, tomorrow is the SuperBowl and I'm planning some very yummy food so we'll see if the 192 stays or goes up by Monday!

GO BEARS!

Down to 194 today.  (Did I lose an arm?) Just passed my 9 mo. post-op date.  Incredible.  Just shy of 130lbs. in 9 months.  Still can't believe it.

Let's talk about some changes that have happened in those past 9 months.  Obviously my clothing has gotten smaller.  Of course, my body parts have gotten smaller as well!  I've noticed that my knees don't creak and crack when I walk up the stairs.  I'm assuming this is due to less pressure (weight) on the knees.  I don't huff and puff any more when I reach the top of the stairs.  I can see my toes without bending over.  I can really pinch an inch now instead of a foot!  (I can fit in an airplane seat with room to spare!)

I no longer dread going out in public because I don't have clothes that fit.  I have tons of clothes that fit now.   Of course, some are a bit too big which isn't a bad thing at all!  I never used to 'accessorize' for fear that it might attract attention to me.  I now wear more jewelry to show off my neckbones that I never knew I had.  I actually look forward to getting dressed in clothing other than sweats!  Oh, did I mention I'm having an affair with Old Navy?

So there you have it.  Never once have I regretted having this surgery.  I think it was the best thing I've done for myself.  If you are reading this and are thinking about having this surgery, I say go for it!  Everyone is different and obviously surgery isn't for everyone but I doubt you'll regret it if you ever do it!

Jan 15, 2007

I can hardly believe it's been a month since I've last posted.  Time is just flying by.

In the last month I am not sure I really lost any weight at all!  I float between 195-196 which means maybe I lost a pound or two.  I am at the point now where I can really eat what I want and find myself snacking maybe a bit too much.  I know that if I cut that out, I'd probably lose more.  Also, I should probably exercise more.  That usually helps!  : )

The good news is that I went to try on dresses for my best friends wedding.  Usually I'd be thinking that I'd have to wear the BIGGEST size they offered and that my fat would hang out in places that didn't seem possible but this time was different!  I was the guinea pig, so to speak.  The dress my friend wanted for the girls only came in a 14 or 16 in the colors we were interested in.  I know for a fact that when you try on dresses in a bridal shop, they always seem to be small and you need to go up a size or two and then they take it in a bit if needed.  So, I'm thinking I'd be an 18 or so.  I tried on the 14 and it fit.  It was such a great feeling!  The dress looked so good on.  It was very glamorous, too.  I felt like a model.  It was just such a beautiful thing:  the fact that it fit and the fact that it looked so nice.  It was VERY low cut in both front and back.  My back fat didn't hang over since there wasn't any back fat!  My stomach didn't stick out because there wasn't a stomach to stick out.  I just can't tell you how cool a feeling it was.

Just after Christmas, Coldwater Creek had a big sale online so I ordered a TON of stuff.  I ordered mostly 14's but a few 12's and one 16.  The 14's were big and one of the 12's I tried on actually had a bit of room in it!  The 16 was WAY too big.  Honestly, I just couldn't believe it.  I thought I was dreaming.

I'm coming up on 9 months post op.  Talk about time flying!  In a week, we are going to a water park in WI and I really don't have a swimsuit that fits.  I bought a 16 for when we were in Florida in October but it's little big.  It will do for now, though.  Walking around in a water park without worrying about how you look or feel around others is a great thing.
