Hello this is another up date I’m doing good  my personal trainer left town right after my last update for a few weeks he said, that was in January it’s almost May he still hasn’t got back but that’s OK I found another good trainer. I had some other small health problems but we figured out I wasn’t getting enough calories and water when I told my new trainer what was wrong and what I was eating he said I wasn’t eating enough then I made an appointment with the nutritionist I had to see before surgery she said I looked lethargic and I needed to eat more and eat right her list of food was almost the same as the trainers except he didn’t have any snack foods so they said pretty much the same thing.

January 14, 2010 one year since surgery over 170Lbs lost from highest pre-surgery weight. I had a problem with low energy and low blood pressure. Also had my one year check up I’m doing OK. I am now working twice a week with a personal trainer I now have a lot more energy and toning up. I’m glad I found a trainer instead of joining a gym because I probably wouldn’t stay with the gym.

I saw the doctor everything is fine I’m still losing weight I’ve lost  over 150 Lbs from my highest weight this time last year and over 100 Lbs since surgery. Last week I gave my old fat cloths to Good Will. I brought a shirt at Dollar General the other day something I would not have ever thought of doing. This is new to me and I like it.

 

It’s almost 4 months since surgery . Life is not as bad as I thought it would be right after surgery it gets easier every day my energy is coming back I’m moving my body like it never moved before I’m doing things I never would have done, this is like a new life I started riding a motorcycle, also started going to out door festivals and just doing more than I did before surgery     

I’m 11 weeks Post Op I have lost over 70 lbs since surgery and finally starting to get my strength back. First I was worried about what would happen after this surgery people that haven’t seen me in awhile don’t recognize me anymore. My clothes don’t fit. The funny thing is I gave all of my smaller clothes away before I ever thought about this surgery because I had settled on the fact that I would never fit those clothes again. This whole experience has shown me life has lots of unexpected events that come our way.

I had my 6 week check up 2 weeks ago everything is on schedule I lost about 50 lbs since surgery and 80 lbs since starting this journey. Life is not as bad as I thought it would be right after surgery it gets easier every day my  energy is slowly coming back I’m moving my body like it never moved before I’m doing things I never would have done, this is like a new life I can sit down in a office chair and not have to take my phone case off before I sit so I don’t break it. I’m still not eating much and lost about another 10 lbs since. My clothes are falling off of me life is good.

I went to my 2 week post-op check up today everything is fine my weight is 23 Lbs less than when I had surgery. The time is fling by it seems like yesterday when I started this journey. I’m doing fine, I’m getting around I still don’t have much of an appetite. The doctor gave me a smoothie recipe which should make it easy to take my protein.  

I finally had my VSG surgery Jan. 14, 2009, things went, with out a hitch, went home the next day. On the day of surgery my weight was 340 lbs. My first day home I couldn't get enough water in and had no appetite by Sunday I was able to get more fluids down.

Getting ready for the day, I had my Phone assessment yesterday to get information for the hospital. As the day gets closer it makes me wonder what will mess this up and keep me from getting this surgery at the last minute. One week left before surgery still not nervous  yet, but that will probably change as I get closer to the date..

I finish all my pro-op physicals everything is OK Surgeon said go on no carb diet two weeks before surgery and don't gain any weight New Years day start the diet time is getting near. it's finally starting to hit me I will be having surgery for the first time in my life.
