Ok well all righty!  Tonight is my last splurg, goin to Red Lobster for Coconut shrimp and a glass of Zinfendel..tomorrow I will wake up and be glad that I finally have this opportunity to shed the pounds, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apenea, aching knees and aching feet and thank God for the beautiful day to begin this fight for my life!  The dreaded Liver shrinking diet begins at 8am tomorrow,,,I am really and truly looking forward to this structured and fairly strict  event of protein shakes and small amounts of food...I will make myself do this and will be glad I did when Sept. 10 rolls in.  God is in control.  Today I went to the grocery store and gathered all that I will need for next two weeks and it really is exciting for this to really be here..finally..my sister called today and offered to come and be with me if I need her, I really appreciated this. My husband JIm has taken off from work for two weeks after the surgery so I will be fine.  I am really anxious to get started..I am still walking 30 min a day on treadmill..today I increased 3 min...I know that is not much but it is to me and I am trying to gradually increase my time to build up to 45 min..then 1 hour.  I am setting small goals for myself.

Yippie !!!!!!!!!!!! Today is Aug. 19, 2009 and I just got a call from Jeanette at Dr. Weaver's office to let me know I had been approved by Cigna for my surgery on Sept. 10, 2009 !!!!!!!!!!!  That took less than a week...I am so glad that there were no hiccups in this procedure. Dr. Weaver's office is AWSOME. I couldn't sleep last night tossed and turned looked at the clock all nite, prayed for all to turn out ok and left it at the feet of my Jesus.  He is the only one in control.  I have laid my burdens and fears down and turned it all ove to God all mighty and now I am just going to enjoy the ride!  I even ventured out today and just looked at smaller clothes and couldn't imagine getting into them, it is too good to be true for all of this to be falling into place.  My sweet husband Jim is as excited and nervous as I am.

Geez Louise, I got a call from Dr. Weaver's office this morning and they have moved my surgery up one week to Sept. 10,2009.  That moves everything up, blood work, liver shrink diet.  I am really glad that it will be sooner rather than later, as I have my first Grandson due on Oct. 9,2009 and want to be up and running by the time he arrives!  My husband has to change his vacation dates so that he can be with me, hopefully that will not be a problem, but it might as he only works with 2 other folks at Fed Ex in his field and they all have to work around each other to make sure one of them is there at all times.  It shouldn't be a problem, I hope not .  This sure brings it alot closer to home now.  I go in for blood work this Fri. 21  Aug. and start Liver shrink diet on Aug. 27...I am walking 30 min. a day on treadmill..today I walked faster I know because I am getting nervous..also called Sleep clinic Dr. to advise of this as I go back there on Aug. 24 for second evening of testing, if surgery is only 17 days from this and I don't have any symptoms of sleep apneia why do I need a cpap machine if RNY gets rid of this condition.

I am really feeling good about the surgery not being as far off as it has been...the last weigh in today and I was down 2 lbs. from last month.  Now after that report is sent in to Dr. Weaver's office I next wait for Cigna to approve or not approve...I am praying that it will not take long for an approval.  I have been trying the Atkins protein shakes and also unflavored protein powder in protein shakes..not bad at all..I am nervous about the Liver shrink diet as I like to CHEW on something for a meal, but if others have made it, then I can too.  I need some new clothes but refuse to buy any until I start losing weight.  I appreciate any advice anyone sends my way.   37days till surgery!

Today is July 15,2009 and I just fininshed with my tests at St. Francis...Sleep Study, Echo, and Stress tests, which was NOT on a treadmill but done with medication thru an IV then a 15min. scan of blood vessels, yesterday and then back today for another scan.  I had the Upper GI last week...I am sure glad all of this is behind me now.....I have my 5th weigh-in this afternoon  and then only ONE MORE weigh-in in mid August.   It really isn't that far off until my surgery date of 17 Sept.  
     I have my first Grandson being born or due on 09 Oct. ..I hope I am up and kicking by that time!
