12 years out update
Sep 20, 2019
So here I am 12 years after my surgery. MY surgery weight was 264 my current weight is 174. I am up from my normal. I am usually 150-160. But after years of suffering for 10 of those 12 years I am finally pain free. I still have complications. But am doing better than I ever did. I still dump, I still get the foamies, I still hiccup, I still get nauseous, and I still cant eat Mashed potatoes...lol I do however eat everything else. I still cant eat a lot at a time I do manage to eat things I probably shouldn't. Carbs are my friend and I know they are not good for most people I still have them. I live off of toast, crackers wheat thins and cheez-its. I eat Mini peanut butter cups and by that I mean 3 or so every other day. I eat a lot of soup because I get less nauseous. Also COFFEE is my drug of choice. I get asked all the time if I would do it all over again with all the complications I suffer. And my answer is the same every time. ABSOLUTELY!! Hopefully I remember to update more regularly.

8 year update
Jan 03, 2015
Wow January 16. 2015 will mark my 8 year anniversary since my surgery pre surgery weight 264lbs. Current weight 148lbs overall doing well still having issues with my digestive tract I've been diagnosed with IB and I have not been able to afford a tummy tuck so I've been dealing with tearing of my skin under my flap although I don't get infections because I keep it very clean it seems that when one side heals the other side tears oh well the story of my life. My pouch has not stretched to much I still eat child portions but I am able to eat often. I am able to tolerate sugar in moderation milk is my enemy. And no mashed potatoes for me although fried potatos are just fine. In conclusion considering I was given 3 to 6 months to live and it's been 8 years I guess I'm doing something right.

Wow I have not updated in a while. Well after my last surgery I was very weak and not feeling well. but today I am doing better. I returned to work and am doing so much better I still have problems eating food. I have no hunger and need to be reminded to eat. I eat about two tablespoons every two hours and that is working great for me. I have lost 80 pounds since surgery woohoo. I went from a tight 24W to a 14 juniors. I am very happy about that. I take my vitamins regularly and I take zigered for my ulcer. I take more pills than I eat solid food that could be why I am not hungry. I am having to deal with allot of loose skin it is hard to hide it. Very flabby and ugly. I was apposed to Plastics but now I think it is a necessity. I have started a savings fund for that. Just thinking ahead.

On March 15th I had to have my stricture stretched again. This is now my third time. I was told that this could go on for the rest of my life. I can eat more now than before but not enough to keep my body from starving. So I have to take my vitamins and protein to keep myself alive. I do my best. I try to eat slowly and often that does help. I still am loosing weight like crazy I am starting to get flabby I guess I need to exercise but I don't have allot of energy lately. No food no energy. I will try to update soon.
