Jul 17, 2011

Well I had many accomplishments this week!  I hit the 50 pounds lost mark and I also landed a job that my weight previously held me back from landing!  I am super stoked I go back to school on August 22 and my goal is to be down 84 pounds total, I have been hitting the gym hard and really pumping out some exercises that have left me exhausted!!! but in a really great way!  I hope all are doing well and I am getting better by the day!  Its just kind of hard to get past the psychological holds!!!

18 days post op

May 25, 2011

Well it has been a very happy and quick recovery period for me.  I had my staples removed last week, and thank god for that.  I started back to the gym last friday after the staples came out, I am amazed at how quickly things are progressing for me.  I did a fitness analysis yesterday at the gym to map out my course of action, I had to weigh in and when I did what a wonderful surprise I recieved, I am down a total of 37 pounds since April 23, when I started the Protein shake diet pre-operatively.  I also decided it was time for the first set of measurements to be reviewed, I am down 1.5-2 inches in all measurements, which is awesome.  If I ever had a thought of what did I do, I certainly don't think that anymore, I would do this 100 times over to get this result and to know that I will be healthy and running with my girls in no time flat.  The workouts have been pretty tough some days and I have been a bit tired but that is par for the course I suppose.  I have noticed littel things that are wonderful that most take for granted, like almost being able to cross my legs without them sliding back, yeah that hasn't happened in a long time.  It will all fall into place, sooner than later I assume.  I am working hard at getting to the goal of health and satisfaction and I know that I will make it there before I know it!

Day 3 post op

May 12, 2011

Feeling really slow today!  I have not had near the issues some have had and I am so grateful for that.  I have had the most issues with actually just eating at all, the desire is not there and I find that I have to force myself to eat!  The other thing that I hae encountered is that my new pouch DOES NOT like cold liquids, my belly is quite swpllen but I a, feeling better by the day!  Hopeful that anyone else who has had this surgery recently is recovering in a speedy manner!!  I will keep all in my prayers that are awaiting, recovering or struggling!  GOOD LUCK!!!!

ANXIETY RIDDEN!!!!

Apr 18, 2011

Well today makes day 5 since my auth request has been sent in to the insurance company.  I am so nervous and anxious to get "THE CALL"  to set a date.  I am super stoked about the nearing month and the possibility that it brings for a new and improved future for me and my family will benefit also.  I have already started the diet to reduce my liver in hopes that ewhen that call comes I am ready and capable of taking the first available date. The semester is winding down in school as well and after May 5th I have 2 semesters until I am finally a college graduate, this has me very anxious as well.
I have a friend whom has put together 2 Protein drink books as well as a cookbook for when we have our surgeries, that was such a nice idea I thought.
Well I look forward to connecting with persons who have had or are awaiting their surgery date so I have decided to attend a support group meeting this week.
Have a great week everyone!

A Little About Me!

Apr 08, 2011

Good morning all!  I have decided after many years of hoping for that diet, lifestyle change, exercise program, pills and whatever else I could get into to try and lose weight that I would jump on the wagon and be successful with my weight loss.  This decision has brought me to the "Gastric Bypass" and I have just recently completed my additional 6 months worth of diet and exercise that is documented.
I am a mother of 2 wonderful girls, and 1 wondeful grand-daughter and a wife to a wonderful husband.  I am currently a full-time nursing student and have worked in the medical field for many years.  I live in sunny Florida and close to beaches on both sides.  I love to garden, work in the yard, enjoy the company of others and these are all things that have been hindered by my weight.  I am a very ambitious person and always on the go.  I have always had an undieing willingness to help others and in return at times have put myself on the back burner; well that has now changed and this is something that has been really hard for, as I feel selfish.
Well that is enough for right now, I'm going to make it a plan to add each saturday, given the opportunity and will keep all posted on my progress.
P.S. Please pray all goes well, submitted for Auth yesterday!
Thanks,
Jaimie
