Well I have some news...I have postponed my surgery tomorrow!! I never thought that I would, but I am confident with my decision to do so. I think that I was caught in the moment, and was not making the decision that was best for me. From the beginning I wanted to have my procedure done laparoscopicly, My surgeon told me that he would try but could not make any promisses. He told me that I was on the weight limit borderline which for him is 300lbs. but I weighted 313. Most Surgeons that do it laparoscopicly go up to 350lbs, some even higher. He never even suggested that I try to drop the 13lbs to ensure success of the procedure laparoscopicly. After some soul searching, I have decided to cancel my surgery and look for another surgeon who does the procedure laparoscopicly. I am looking for someone who specializes in laparoscopic surgery. I have a few leads, but if anyone has any advise, or information on someone please forward it to me. Thank you for all of your kind wishes and thoughts...I will update you once I have more information.

Hi Jamelle, As a fellow October Op, I want to let you know that you are not alone in your anxiety. NO matter what we are going to be nervous about this whole thing. We have read the memorials, we know the risks, but we also know this is a second chance at life!! The risks are SO minute to what we are going to be able to do in a couple of months. The risks are there just driving on the freeway nowadays!! God is the mighty physician and He will be in that operating room. I rest in that knowledge and I rest in His promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us. That excites me!!! YAY!! Jamelle, we are on our way!! I am scheduled for the 13th so you will be there before me!! I will keep you in prayer. In Him, Robyn

Jamelle, yes, it is perfectly normal to feel this way, but your whole life is in front of you just waiting. Best of luck on your decisions , and surgery if thats the path you choose. I will be thinking of you,

Jamelle, I want you to know that it is normal to be scared. But the odds are on your side that you will not have any complications. I had a LAP in April and it was a breeze. I have had other surgeries and this was by far the easiest that I ever went through. I was back at my desk job in a week. Just remember the best is yet to come. let me know if I can help you.
