I've been debating for a few years about having bariatric surgery. I know a few people who've had it and they have inspired me to begin this journey. After seeing pictures of myself around Christmas time 2008, and with my family medical histories, I knew it was time to start taking control of things.
I decided to attend a Bariatric Informational Seminar in May 0f 2009. It helped me realize that I wasn't alone, that I hadn't failed, and there really could be light at the end of the tunnel. So I verified my insurance would cover the surgeries, and scheduled my consultation with Dr. Lalor.
I had my consult July 2 and also met with the nutritionist. I was given medical testing to schedule. Being excited by it all, I had my labwork and radiological testing done on July 8.
Now I need to talk with my PCP, and schedule appointment with the Internal Medicine Doctor and Psychologist.
