Even my doctor had no idea why it did what it did to me.  Activity irritated the entire area.  No idea why, it just did.

 

Today is March 7, 2014

after years of surgery after surgery, replacing the band, replacing ports, several for just stitching the port down...... 

I have HAD IT with the pain.  Example, yesterday I was out 4 hours. Wearing exactly my size jeans...... Today, I can barely walk. This is something that happens all the time.

  Soooooo, my doctor is doing a bypass.  This coming week I have all the evals and tests and hoping within the next 2 weeks I have it done.

  This is not just a bypass, it is removing this extremely painful lapband.  It is the PORT that is the issue.

Wow, so much has happened over the past 13 months!
Last Oct.  I had a SEVERE slip!!!     I ended up having to have emergency surgery.  I was able to keep my band!  Thank goodness!
  But I did have a new one!  

  Well, I was not allowed a fill at all for 4 months but it turned into almost 6 months.  My port was "free floating" in there!
Dr. Searles was not able to give the fill in his office.  Took forever to find someone to do the fills under flouro (that would take my insurance).  So, I got my first fill at 6 months.  I had already gained weight.  got depressed over the whle thing and life in general and .... seemed it was never ending!
  The fill I got was sooooo small, it did not make a diference at all.  But I gave it a chance.  I asked for another fill.  Again, Dr. Searles could not get it.  Everrytime he would try, the port would move.
  Could not find a doc to do my fill.  FINALLY Dr. Cruse in radiology did it.... or should I say TRIED.  the darned port was completely backwards!  He tried turning it but no luck!
  Dr. Searles decided he HAD to go in and stitch the thing down.  Had to get insurance approval!  Need I say more?? lol

  Well, finally got the approval and scheduled the sritch down!  That was exactly 2 weeks ago.
  Fot a small fill while under.  I can feel that!

  BUT .... I have developed a seroma.  A build up of fluids ..... I had 2 ER trips in a weeks time.  The last, I could hardly walk, talking was painful and breathing was extremely painful.  The fluid build up was BIGTIME!  
  Dr. Searles drained off ALOT of the fluid.  Pretty nasty, if you ask me!

  That was Monday morning.  Today I am still hurting and fear this whole fluid thing!  But he assures me that he did a good stitchdown and it is deeper than the last.

  BUT I have LOST 3 pounds since Thursday (5 days) even with all the swelling and fluids.

  I am sooooo looking forward to getting this weight off again.  I tell ya what!  I LEARNED SOOOOOO MUCH!  Mostly on loosing control!  What NOT to do! 

  I took my measurements today and am keeping track.
Oh boy!  Going from a loose size 12 back to a size 18 SUCKS!!!

 

Well, I am now well below my goal weight.
  I have gone in and gotten an UNfill to be able to just maintain where I am now.

Wearing a very nice size 12.  Weighing in at 160.
I am also a NORMAL WEIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have reached my goal!!!!!!!!!! 
Goal of 175 was reached on July 28, 2008.
BUT as of today's date, Aug. 9, 2008, I am at 169!

Surgery was Nov. 2, 2007
  I was 277 pounds  at the time of the photo.  Dropped 27 before surgery
TOTAL loss is 108 pounds!!!!

That is right!  I just looked at my BMI and I am at 28!  Yess!  TWENTY EIGHT!!!!!
I am just OVERWEIGHT!
I am also 9 pounds from my goal weight!

  I am 6 months 2 weeks and 6 days  after lap band!

Sigh!  I am one happy camper!
