Top 10 Vacation Thrills 5 mos/80 pounds post DS

May 12, 2012

Well we just got back from vacation at 3am. Our plane landed home at 1:30am. It was a beautiful trip to Arizona (my first). We saw the red rocks of Sedona, went on a hot air balloon ride in Cottonwood, shopped Jerome and of course spent a full day at the Grand Canyon. I want to sum up for you and to remind myself what a blessing my DS has been to me.

husband.

My first full day home

Dec 11, 2011

I must say things are much better being home than in the hospital. That being said, I am very anxious about tomorrow. My (grown) daughter has arranged her work schedule and is on winter break from school. So, she will be with me. But, it feels very strange to depend on your own child for things like I may need tomorrow. I am so use to my husband always being there for me in all my illness and hard times. But, he's been off since Tues. I can't expect him to keep taking time off. I just think tomorrow until 6pm is going to be the longest day of my life.
I'm also feeling what I've read hundreds of times on this site.I'm trying to remember that in a couple weeks or so this pain and discomfort will be less and less and in a couple months, I will have NO regrets. But right now, I'm scared and hurt alot.

There are so many things I should be doing

Dec 05, 2011

I planned on really cleaning the house and organizing (nesting) today since I wont be home again til Saturday or Sunday. But, I keep coming back to the computer (OH) mostly. I just feel like I need to be with other kindred spirits. Even though we are not physically connected, I know you are all in the same boat and understand how I feel today. That's funny sometimes I don't even understand how I feel today.
I just am so glad I found this sight and have gotten to know some of you. It's invisible, but I can feel the love and support. Thank you and I'll talk to you when I get home.

....today I read it with fresh eyes. This is my anthem now. This is what will help give me the courage to go through my surgery Dec. 6 and the rest of the journey. This, my friends and my angel. Thank you all. I hope this can give you some inspiration too.
