When I approached my 40th birthday almost 4 years ago, I took a hard look at myself didn't like what I saw. I had been overweight my entire life. No matter what I did or what diets I tried I was unable to keep weight off for any length of time. Married with one child I was the happiest I had ever been in my life, but couldn't get over that last final hurdle of getting the weight off. So I went into therapy, and dealt with the issues that drove me to eat. But after many medical problems I was unable to lose any amount of weight on my own. It was at that point I started the process to have bariatric surgery. I am now happily on my way to the permanent weight loss I've always dreamed of after having RNY on 2/9/2009.
