Update on my journey!

Had my consultation meeting on August 27, 2008. I cannot say enough about the staff at NWH. Amazing! I first got weighed and had my picture taken and met with Linda (nutritionist), Darlene (pyschologist) and then Dr, Partridge. Also had blood drawn downstairs at some point. The whole process took about 5 1/2 hours, including waiting time. It really wasnt as bad as it sounds.
After meeting with me, Darlene and Linda meet with Dr. Partridge quickly to discuss what they think (whether or not a good candidate?). I spent about 20 minutes with Dr. Partridge, who was great. She answered all of my questions and made sure I didnt have any more questions before leaving. I quit smoking, which is a requirement, on July 11, 7 weeks before my appointment and Dr. Partridge congratulated me several times! She is really caring and I loved her personality! Her expertise seems to be impecible! I have total confidence in her. She asked that I come in in 4 weeks to see how I am doing and what changes I have made.
Side note: My PCP wanted me to go to Dr. Mun @ the Faulkner Hospital AND my sister was a nurse on Dr. Mun's floor at the BI a few years ago. They both spoke highly of him. I am still glad that I chose Dr. Partridge at NWH!
September 26, 2008: Had my appointment with Linda, the nutritionist and Dr. Partridge. Both meetings went really well! I lost 9 pounds since my last appointment 4 weeks ago! They both were very pleased. Since I already had my sleep study (and diagnosed with sleep apnea - ugh!), they were ready to submit my stuff to insurance! YAY! I have BCBS and Renee said it should only take a week for a decision!
October 2, 2008: Got a call from Renee and I have a DATE! WHoo HOO! November 24, 2008! She also gave me the dates for my pre-op and blended diet review... I cannot believe this is really happening!
