Hi Jennifer, the guilt over poor food choices never really goes away, sorry, but after surgery it does change. Everyone is different but most people find their tastes change drastically. I still have a sweet tooth but you find you are satisfied with alot less. Eat too much and you will regret it. The surgery will give you a great tool to help you in your journey. Start off right and you will be thrilled. Look at it this way, following the rules right after the surgery isn't just good for your weight it can save your life. The last thing you want is to cause yourself complications. Surgery eventually will give you the ability to enjoy normal foods in normal amounts. Good luck.
