Well I called Dr. Weaver's office (per my PCP's request) to find out what else I'd need before surgery and to see if my PCP could go ahead and give me a psych referral.  The receptionist was SO rude!!!  She asked me what I was doing and why I was doing all of this first when I hadn't even gotten their approval yet.  UGH!!!  I told her I knew I needed the 6 months for insurance and saw no need to wait for several months to see the surgeon only THEN to be told that I'd need to do 6 months of a supervised diet.  So I got a little rude back and then hung up.

I called another surgeon's office in Memphis and the receptionist was SO much nicer, but she told me it would be middle of next YEAR before I could have my surgery!!!  WHAT!?!?!  She said the surgeon was all booked up.  UGH!!!

So then I decided to try Jonesboro instead.  I called Dr. Jones' office and the receptionist was very nice.  She answered all my questions and was very patient with me.  She told me that I'd first need to go to one of his seminars.  I asked her about doing all this health stuff before hand and she said the more I did upfront the faster I could have my surgery.   So I'm going to Dr. Jones' seminar on July 24th!!!

Today I went for my 5th month checkup with my doctor.  I can't believe I've been on this diet for 5 months already!!!  I've just got one more month to go and then I can try and get approved through insurance for my surgery.

When I started this I so dreaded the 6 months.  I thought it would take FOREVER.  However now that I'm almost to the end, it doesn't feel like very long at all.

I've got to call Dr. Weaver's office on Monday and see what else I'll need before I can get my insurance to approve me.  Dr. Stiles thinks that all I need is my psych eval, but I guess I'll find out Monday.

I'm only down 1/2 a pound for this month, but actually I was surprised to even be down any.  I gained 10lbs while on vacation and it took me 3 weeks to get it back off.  So knowing where I came from I'm happy to have at least lost that 1/2 a pound.

I'm determined that next month will be better.  I still can't believe that I'm down 20lbs though since this all began.  I feel SO much better than I did just 5 months ago.
