After being overweight all of my adult life & being denied for weight loss surgery twice, I finally switched my insurance to Kaiser (because I knew they would approve me based on my BMI alone), and had the gastric bypass surgery on November 21, 2011. When I entered their Options program in the spring of 2011 I weighted 342 pounds, and on the day of my surgery I weighed 311. The first few months after the surgery the pounds flew off, now they're still coming off, just at a slower rate. It's hard because I started testing my pouch & found that I can eat just about anything...and have cheated more times than I certainly should have. Since I lost my job of 10 years in February 2012, I've also done a lot of snacking while at home all day. I am now trying harder to stick to the diet, get all my vitamins & protein in, and going to the gym at least 4 times a week. It's still a battle, but the roux-en-y has been an amazing weapon to help fight it. I had some complications & major regrets during my first month out, but as of today, I have absolutely no regrets. The main reason I wanted to have the surgery is because I have PCOS & was not able to get pregnant...I hope & pray that as soon as my doctor clears me to start trying, I will be able to conceive. Thanks for taking the time to visit my profile & read my story. I always welcome new friends :)
