Back In the Saddle

Mar 05, 2009

After my bowel obstruction surgery I was sick for months. I felt bad all the time and a lot of times I just didn't feel like eating. I think that had to do with some emotional/personal stuff too. I went through a tough time personally, resulting in the dissolution of my relationship and me moving to the United States.

When I first arrived I was in pretty bad shape and I looked gaunt. My poor mother was really alarmed and insisted that I eat, eat, eat. I agreed with her that I was looking pretty bad, so I went on a bit of a campaign to gain 10 pounds. I ignored all the pouch rules! Well it worked. I have gone back up to 140 but I am no longer happy at 140. I'd like to be at about 135.

It seems a bit silly to worry over 5-pound increments when there was a time that 10 or 15 pounds in one direction or the other was virtually unnoticable. That's something I need to remember.

I am grateful that I have the luxury of worrying over 5 little pounds!

I am also back in the saddle with my life in general. I am making a life for myself here in the United States. I've found a job, a home, friends and even a boyfriend.

I'm also working on my website again. I'm very pleased with it so far. I have a lot of information, but there's so much more to add!

Check it out: http://www.gastric-bypass-guru.com

Also, if you have a story you'd like to add and/or before and after pictures please contact me through the site! I'd love to have it be more interactive.

I'm thinking about putting up some Google ads or something to cover the costs, but right now it's just a labor of love :-)
